I'm looking to try hard body swimbaits this year and was wondering what rod to throw them on?

I was looking at 4"-6" swimbaits... the biwaa seven and the River 2 sea s waver were the 2 swimbaits I was looking to try and the weights range from 2/3 oz-1 5/8 oz.

Just wondering what I can throw them on and not have to worry about snapping my rod when casting them. Was thinking MH/MF

Saw a few crankbait rods that I thought I could use that way I could make it like a crankbait/small swimbait rod but the highest lure weigh I could find was 1oz in MH crank bait rods and a actual swimbait rod (or at least the ones that are labeled as swimbait rods) just seem like overkill unless I'm throwing big huddlestons... Which I don't plan on throwing as I don't have money for them and I'm not fishing in Florida or California and we ain't got any bass that would probably go after those big swimbaits

Take a look at a Dobyns Fury FR 765 Flip. It covers 1/4 to 2 ounce baits.  If you look at that rod it says it is a 7'6" flipping stick, but list the swimbaits as a secondary technique suggested for that rod. You would be getting a rod that would be multi purpose, swimbaits, flipping, big carolinas etc.  The rod has a nice tip, is well balanced and only costs $110. My friend Kris has one, so I had a chance to throw it a bit. That is a nice stick

Give Dobyns a phone call they really are great at customer service, heck Gary himself oftens answers the phone.  Ask them about the rod with the size baits you want to use with it. Of course they have their big swimbait rod in that line up. It is a FR 795SB. That means it is only 3 inches longer and covers 1 to 5 ounce baits.  I think the FR 765 Flip would be your answer.

You can throw a 168 S-Waver on a standard MH rod. They don't have much resistance in the water and you can fish them on standard gear. If you're looking to throw some stuff in the 1.5-2oz range but still want a practical rod, check out the Dobyns Champion 806CB.
