Super User Columbia Craw Posted December 21, 2016 Super User Posted December 21, 2016 It was a cormorant. I can't tell you how many times I thought I was getting bit and it was a cormorant. Very frustrating. Quote

Turns out, by that time the bass had already eaten and pooped out my lure and when I went to set the hook my braided line sawed the fish clean in half. 8 Quote

Global Moderator Mike L Posted December 21, 2016 Global Moderator Posted December 21, 2016 Listen..All kidding aside, does it matter what caused the "tick" at that point ? It's under the water, you can't see your hook, you can't see where you're hook is, all you know is that you felt something that you can't explain during one of the most advantageous times to catch a bass...On the fall! So turn it around and ask yourself..All things considered how in the heck would anyone know if it was a stick?? Stop thinking about what is was, set the hook and find out. Mike 4 Quote
Red Bear Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Pretty much what Mike L said. None of us are going to know, and neither are you, unless you attempt a hook set and theres a fish on the other end. or you snag and possibly reel in a stick. Why would you even stop fishing to come here and ask such a question is what im wondering? last thing i want to do while fishing is go online. i go fishing to get away from computers and tvs and phones and all that stuff. well i do take my phone, but with no intentions of having to use it, especially to browse the web.
