The perfect wacky spinning rod

I'm looking for a wacky rod specifically 6'8 mxf preferred black purple or whatever just no red I don't like red ,lots of brands out there but not with theses specs not interested in a mojo budget is 140$ any help guys?

Check out the BPS Carbonlite, I've had one for a few years and it's not a bad rod with those specs. It is light and sensitive, the only thing I don't care for are the guides. With floro you get a fare amount of line slap, but I do not have this problem using braid and a leader.

Any reason for not being interested in a Mojo? I recently picked up the mlxf of the new Mojos and have been nothing but impressed by the rod for the price.

I have one and I like it I just want something different there's a lot of brands out there I want to try something new.

Powell makes a 6'10" MXF that might work well.  I realize it is a couple of inches longer, but might be worth looking at. The model is  6103MEF.  My local tackle shop stocks them and I had some of these in my hand yesterday. Nice feeling rods. They also have a distinct coloring on that series. They retail for $99.  The spec on it is 1/8 to 1/2, 5 to 12 pound line.

I have the Mojo with the exact specs you requested. IMO, it's the best wacky rig rod in that price range out there. It's also an excellent multipurpose spinning rod that will do just about anything. The only other one I've had that was close is the 6'8" Ethos from Academy. 

In the big picture though, wacky rigging doesn't require a real specialized rod. I've used a bunch of different lengths and actions, baitcasting, spinning, even spincasters, they all worked.

Or add a few $$$ to your budget, and get DVT to build one exactly like you want.

I agree with you on that you can use just about anything for wacky rigging I'm currently using a 6'8 ghost casting. I have a decent arsenal mostly in  7 foot range rods however this rod I want it for the bank and will use it for a few different things besides wackyrigging I need to get into tight spots under trees and this is just the exact lenth I want 6'8-6'9 max I hear alot about different brands and want to try something different, Im interested in hearing different opinion.

I got an 6'8" MXF in the Avid X line for wacky worms (and other weightless plastics) last summer and it is the definition of perfect, as far as I'm concerned. At your pricepoint, I would think the mojo is a pretty close approximation.

 

(and I also hate red on rods and reels! I hate it so much! I thought I was the only one...)

This is a really good taper/power for lots of finesse rigs.  Very versatile.

I loved my SCII Mojo 6'8" M/XF for finesse wacky rigs/flick shaking. That rod met it's unfortunate demise in a rod locker lid incident a few years ago, and instead of using St. Croix's excellent customer service, I traded the broken rod to my rod builder towards a small discount on a new rod I requested, and had it replaced with a custom build on a Batson 6'8" M/XF  Immortal spinning rod blank........for all intents and purposes, it's pretty much the same rod with a slightly higher price tag due to it being a custom build, and a few personal touches I had my builder add. If that rod, for some reason, ever meets it's demise............I will probably go out and buy another 6'8" Mojo on the new SCIII blank. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the the Batson blank and/or the build, but some off the shelf rods just have "it", and the 6'8" M/XF St Croix's across the board have "it".

I am interested in the ethos because I've never used one and there seems to be quite the fallowing for them I'm super picky man I want 6'8 they don't have em.

St Croix still has Rage 6'8" MXF casting rods in their Bargain Room for $89 with free shipping and a free Rage hat.  It has the SCIII blank the Avid line uses, and comes with a 5 year warranty.  In my opinion, it would be tough to beat that deal.

As much as I hate Diawa products, I was gifted a Diawa 6'6" S Spinning rod, medium, x-fast. I use it exclusively for wacky worming, and it does the job very well. It's lightweight, casts well, handles bigger fish well, and it's super sensitive. And it comes in under $100 bucks.

I use that same rod for wacky rigging, among many other presentations. Paired with a Lews team lite, it is the most versatile setup I have.

 

EDIT: Hmm, meant to quote MIBassyaker above regarding the Avid X. Not sure why it quoted this one.

Shimano Crucial spinning rod for $114 on TW. 6'8" mxf as you asked for.

Yeah I checked out the crucial but I feel they might be updating it soon so that's why I passed on it.

I don' think that there is anything that could be described as a "perfect" wacky spinning rod.  However, there are lots of "good" ones out there any many have been mentioned.  Me, I have 2 that I use.     Rod A is an old 6'3" Diawa Light & Tough finesse spinning rod.  Back before micro guides were popular, there was a time when Macro guides were a fad, and this rod has them.  The guides along the spine of the rod and the tip have a fairly large diameter.   You will still hear the braid to leader knot smack against the guides, but not as much.   Rod B is a fairly new Fenwick HMG spinning rod  7' MH with an extra fast tip.    They both work for me.

If I had a dedicated wacky rig rod it would be a MXF but currently I go back and forth between a Fenwick Elite Tech 6'10" MLXF and a BPS Tourney 7'0" MHF. Depending on the cover I'm fishing around and the size of the soft plastic I am rigging. Casting around trees and docks I want to get the fish out of there are will opt for the MHF for that. The MLXF I got as a finesse rod mainly for dropshots, ned rigs, and light shakey heads but if I am fishing wacky rigs in open water I will use it for that too. And again back to the actual soft plastic. Thicker stick baits I will prefer the MHF since I want a good hookset and need to move the bulkier plastic through the fishes mouth. 6" straight tail worms I opt for the MLXF. I really like the Elite Tech and would recommend it, very light and sensitive IMO. And you could find one pretty easily within your budget.
