CTBassin860 Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Does anyone use a MLM over a MM for topwater/jerkbait? Im suck between a 6'10" MLM Irod gen 2 and a 6'10 MM Lews custom speed stick. Quote
Super User WRB Posted December 19, 2016 Super User Posted December 19, 2016 No standards exist between mfr's, everyone has their own touch, feel and opinions. Tom 4 Quote
Super User Spankey Posted December 19, 2016 Super User Posted December 19, 2016 if you've handled both great, if not go do it. than go with your feeling. they might not be that far apart for your use. what you decide on will be right. Quote
Super User MassYak85 Posted December 20, 2016 Super User Posted December 20, 2016 Like others have said one companies ML could be another's medium. Now if I wanted to get a rod for those applications I would personally prefer a "true" medium in fast or even extra fast since I want a very quick and responsive tip to work those types of lures, and the medium to be a little more versatile, but others will have different preferences I am sure. A lot of companies ML's that I have felt in person I wouldn't want to use some of the larger jerkbaits I have. 1 Quote
Super User Raul Posted December 20, 2016 Super User Posted December 20, 2016 I fish hard jerkbaits with a GLoomis SJR782/CR722 rod, in theory they are MF. Quote
Robert Riley Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 I've got a TFO M/F that I use for topwaters, it's on the lighter side of medium IMO. Quote
