Here in the Memphis area it's winter! The actual temperature is 17* but the wind has picked up. The dog got a very short walk this morning.

It was 15 below zero overnight at my house. The spring on my garage door broke and we couldn't get the wife's car out of the garage. She was going to take my truck to work, but it wouldn't start. Couldn't get the snowblower out of the garage either. Winter doesn't even officially begin for 2 more days.

Friday here in MD,  in the teens. (I even wore long pants to work)  Awoke Saturday morning to freezing temps and a nice layer of ice on everything.   Sunday,  65 degrees around midday.

Here in Northeastern PA on sunday I went to take a walk around a local lake. Left my house at noon. Got to the lake 10 minutes later and the temp was 50 degrees. 45 minutes later I was back at my car and the temp was 35 degrees. 15 degree drop in 45 minutes. Now that is a cold front.

The cold front was crazy here in VA. It was 60 degrees, and the winds were very light on the lake, then I heard this noise coming, and turned around to watch a gust of wind coming across the lake, then the trees were all swaying and as soon as the gust hit me it felt COLD!

Yeah, been brutal. How bout how we went from the 70s in the area on Sat afternoon to the temps we've had yesterday & today? Crazy!

I really do not like the cold. I'm really considering moving to FL. ?

I'd rather do construction in the cold than In the heat !

I'd rather fish in the warmth but in the real world (for me) I spend most my time working... Not fishing.. so. Cold ain't so bad.

While we are not as cold compared to most of you (high 40's to low 70's), here in Southern California, he have been getting hammered the last 24 hours with Santa Ana winds.  These are winds that originate in Utah & Nevada and pick up intensity as they head towards the ocean.  The direction of our daily breezes are offshore, from the ocean to inland, so these Santa Ana events flip everything around.

Worse, we actually had a full day of rain on Friday.  Softens up the ground, so when the Santa Ana winds blow, a bunch of trees fall over at the base.  One fell on top of a wedding party at a park as they were posing for pictures (not a good ***...).

We had freezing fog in the area this morning. Yeaaa! That was fun. Glad it's supposed to start warming up.

How come a cold front can freeze your rear end off?
