jb_from_texas Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 I have had two boats. my old 14 ft v-hull was just that, real old. Had an old 1969 9.5 johnson (nick-named "ole reliable). This boat's name was "Boat-dacious" My new to me, but 20 year old boat is named "Hook Em'" and will soon have the pic you see on my posts stuck on the transom. Curious, does anyone name their boats anymore? And if so are there any unique names out there? We had a post late last year where you posted a pic of your boat, but no names. So...? names? Quote
Nick B Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 I do jokingly name mine after my wife, because its tempermental too. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 I do. These are the current 2. I just sold "Fresh Daily" (21' steiger CC) and before her I had "Fishous" on my 17' Whaler. Notice the name "Rusty Hooks". My name is Russ. "Double Entendre" Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 No, but I have called it a few names before. Quote
jb_from_texas Posted May 1, 2006 Author Posted May 1, 2006 I do jokingly name mine after my wife, because its tempermental too. That's funny. Is it now named after your ex-wife? Fishous? I like the play on words. Low Budget Hookers is a classic. I almost named my second boat "Boat-dacious II" but if you saw this boat you would soon realize there is only one Boat-dacious! Quote
Tom Bass Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 I have named my Deck Boat "No Shop Talk" (I haven't put the name on it yet) I'll be naming my new little john boat, the one my wife doesn't know about yet, "Talk shop and swim!" As you might be able to tell from my boat names I don't want to hear anything about work or work related issues when I am out in my boat. 8-) Quote

I was out fishing this oast Saturday and an old Aquantince of mine called me. Told him i was in his hometown on such and such a lake and he met me at the Boat Ramp. We talked for about 5 minuted, then he brought up business. I no sooner got back into my boat, respecfully said buh bye, and went back to fishing. I do not need a good day fishing ruined by Shop Talk. Quote
FlyRod Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 When I fished from bellyboats I named both of the Fishmaster tubes I used. I named the first one "LUSITANIA" but changed it to "Miss Behavin'" after I spotted what I took to be a periscope following me. The second one I named "BISMARCK" but changed that after some basser with a British accent kept trying to run me down in a bassboat with " HMS HOOD" painted on the stern. F.Rod Kapitan Quote
paparock Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Now that I have a pontoon I am going to have to think of a name. My old boat was "Reel Scream." Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted May 2, 2006 Super User Posted May 2, 2006 "The Other Woman" but my wife asked me to change it to "The Office" Quote
srv1990 Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 I've come up with a couple names I like... just don't have the boat yet : Quote
Flatfish Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Picked up a pack of letters and no's from Cabelas for the registration no's on my boat, well had these extras left over. Not being the wasteful type came up with the name for my boat "Fish Buster". Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Write it like this maybe, hehehe FIsh BuSters Quote
Super User Sam Posted May 3, 2006 Super User Posted May 3, 2006 I call mine "The Goose." No reason, just like the name. I have not had the name painted on the boat as it would clash with all of my LSU decals and confuse people since they get confused enough when they see the big ALABAMA decal on the windshield that my son placed there and all the LSU decals. What can I say? We love SEC football! Quote
Skwerl Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 I finally came up with a good name for my boat today. I've had it about 6 weeks now and have been getting everything set up the way I like it. Finally got pretty much everything I need to consistently put quality fish in the bote, so now there are NO MORE EXCUSES for bad fishing days. I'm naming the boat 'No Excuses'. 8-) Quote
hootersdoug Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 "Upper Middle White Trash" is what I call mine! Quote
Rattlinrogue Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 I haven't actually named mine, but I call her "Ole Nelly" for no particular reason.Probably because when I hook her up to the truck it's usually 4:00 AM and I'm still not woke up good and a little out of it. Quote
Tom Bass Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 RL in NH, You and I think alike. I figure that there is no need to talk about work while fishin' or boatin'! ;D Anyone that does needs Keel Hauled....Of course that means I'll need to find a boat with a barnacled keel to haul 'em under : :) Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted May 5, 2006 BassResource.com Administrator Posted May 5, 2006 Had a buddy once who named his Skeeter "Dawn's Early Knight" Quote
bassmasta7 Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 Mine is 15ft with a 50hp johnson. "Boat-Jangles" Quote
JW Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 In the movie, "Cabin Boy", the boat was named "Filthy W h o r e" : JW Quote
SavannahFisher Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 I was thinking about "Slippery Nipple". I thinks it's the name of a drink, but I kindda' like it. Quote
Hot Rod Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 My Stratos doesn't have an "official name", but around the house we call it what my three-year old daughter calls all bass boats with fleck paint -- "Sparkle Boat". ;D I can't imagine the looks I'd get from fellow anglers with that moniker plastered across the back. :-[ Neeless to say, that "name" will remain very, very unofficial.
