Fishin' Fool Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Does anyone know offhand what type of hooks KVD was using on his senkos when he won the tournament on Cuyuga Lk in New York this summer? Otherwise I will have to re watch that episode. It had either a centering pin or corkscrew on the eyelet. Quote
Super User smalljaw67 Posted December 12, 2016 Super User Posted December 12, 2016 Mustad power lock plus, it has a keeper spike. 1 Quote
j bab Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 KVD throws senkos?? I bet that was painful for him. You do what you've gotta do right 1 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted December 12, 2016 Super User Posted December 12, 2016 Senkos will kill on Cayuga when fish are just off the deep weed edge. It takes a while for them to get to that 10-12' depth, but bass bite them, and the northern will mostly ignore them. I'm not surprised that KVD got in on the intel. Pete Gluzik won there a few years ago using a senko. The fish in my avatar pic are from Cayuga. Fun, tough lake. 1 Quote
Fishin' Fool Posted December 12, 2016 Author Posted December 12, 2016 I just watched the episode on YouTube the other day. He had a weight with the senko. I want to say it was a sliding weight and not a pegged weight. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted December 12, 2016 Super User Posted December 12, 2016 Gluzik used a 1/16 oz. pegged weight. If cast with a low trajectory, almost skipping, the bait does loopty-loops on entry. Quote
jr231 Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 And that's loopty loops not circles ! I have my notebook out. 8 minutes ago, J Francho said: Gluzik used a 1/16 oz. pegged weight. If cast with a low trajectory, almost skipping, the bait does loopty-loops on entry. Quote
BrackishBassin Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Crazy to see stuff about Cayuga on here. I grew up swimming in it every summer, and my grandfather fished it every weekend he could until he passed away. Sounds like I need to make a trip back up to my old stomping grounds and wet a line.
