Today's deal on TW, 3 for $25 is a heck of a deal. I guess if it's just small paint Blems and nothing to do with the action then no big deal right?

No big deal. got 3 blems for $20 a couple years ago at a local fishing store. works, caught bass.

Ive got 6...some of them you cant even tell what the blemish is!

They are the only popper I use.

I bought a few last year, bought twice as many this year. I picked up some Gamy treble hooks on the Black Friday sale in anticipation of buying these this year. I've never paid full price for a Rico, so I don't have an original to compare them to. But the only issue I noticed last year was one of the three I picked up seemed to have the wrong size beed/rattle. It gets stuck, and is therefore not as noisy. Just a guess, but I thought they may have accidentally put the rio Rico size beed in a Rico. Can't know for sure. The other two seemed perfect to me, and all have caught fish.

Poppers are in my top three favorite techniques, and they're nearly impossible to lose, so I have no problem dropping some extra cash for these and a few megabass pop x/max's every year. Well worth it to me.

They have no split rings or hooks on them. So add another $3-5 per bait depending on what brands you go with.

Wow those things sold fast. I saw the deal while I was at work but waited until I got home to order, most of the ones I was eyeballing were out of stock by then. Still ordered a few, I've yet to find a popper I have much confidence in maybe these are the ones.

I had some in my cart at work and held off but forgot about it once I got home.   Woke up early and grabbed one each of the only Rio Rico colors left, and a few small ones.   I have split rings and hooks, just not sure what size to use for each.

TW says #6 for the small ones and #4 for the Rio. I am going to use single replacement hooks instead, so it works out to #2 and #1 for me.

What size hooks and split rings you all reccomend?

Same here. Should've moved on these yesterday lol

I use a #2 owner hyper wire split ring and a #4 hook. Usually the mustad kvd since they're quality but not too expensive.

Got my blems today, and I really can't find any blemishes.  They also all came with split rings attached!

I might have unnecessarily spent money on a pack of split rings then! Oh well, I'm sure I'll use them for something else later. Excited for mine to come in soon. I got Lightning Shad, Blue Chartreuse, and John Murray Bass

Poppers, like crankbaits have individual personalities. No 2 are exactly alike. I like the older Ricos which were more like the Michaels, and the japanese Yellow Magics, which they changed around when they sold the US distributorship. The Iovinos are very consistent, and the Zell Pop is also quite good. I also have several shaved Pop Rs that spit with the best of them. Most of these excell when the splish-spit bite is on, when they want actual popping or gurgling, I take out a G-splash or Chug Bug.

Here's one of mine in Lightning Shad, with #4 triple grip trebles, the back one dressed by me (first time dressing a hook)

Very nice! That's making me wish I'd bought a few before they sold out.

They do look nice, hopefully the action can match a non-blem, I'll test it out asap

Let us know how they do. I'm a big fan of poppers. I do really well with skitter pops and pop Rs. Experimented quite a bit with the KVD splash this summer & had good luck with it too. I've actually got a couple of inexpensive H2O express poppers from Academy & they've done pretty well also.

how much are you paying for them ?

Field and stream had buy one get one half off on almost every rapala a while back and the skitter pops were 7.99 . I got several. Amongst various others . Idk if you have those in Texas but they run deals in my area all the time. Maybe they weren't selling em enough. Idk..

Here's a link I found em for 5.99 . Lots of places run deals. Field and stream and DSG are the spots I find the deals the most.

Here's the three I was able to order, also a LiveTarget popper in the picture for forum member Igotwood who is going to be dressing up these single hooks for me to complete the look. They all had split rings also which was nice.

I notice a couple of tiny imperfections in the paint on the rainbow one and the "clown" one. Can't find anything wrong with the green one though. They look fantastic. They're heavy (I hate trying to cast a Pop-R), and great rattles.
