joef16fxr Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 All, I was told by a dealer I don't have enough room in my battery compartment to mount two pumps for some power pole blades. Anyone have these installed on their boat, or have you been told/discovered the same thing? Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted December 8, 2016 Super User Posted December 8, 2016 Perhaps The Minn Kota Talons are a viable option as they require no additional space beyond the mounting hardware. http://www.minnkotamotors.com/Shallow-Water-Anchors/Talon/ A-Jay 1 Quote
joef16fxr Posted December 8, 2016 Author Posted December 8, 2016 Those are crazy expensive though. I got a deal on power pole blades for half off! Quote

Cool ~ But that deal isn't looking too sporty if your fishing platform can't support the unit. Good Luck A-Jay 1 Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted December 12, 2016 Super User Posted December 12, 2016 It might be possible to move the pumps elsewhere. As far as I know it's just hydraulic lines that connect the pumps to the power poles so if you could get some extended lines made you should be able to put them anywhere in the boat. Obviously you're going to have to run more fluid to keep the lines full which means bigger mess if they ever fail, but I don't see why that wouldn't be an option. 1 Quote
Super User gim Posted December 13, 2016 Super User Posted December 13, 2016 Hey Joe how do you like that Crestliner VT 18? I considered the Crestliner VT series as an option when I bought a boat last year. Quote
IntroC Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Do you have room for one pump? One pole will hold that boat more than well enough. I have one pole on an 18 ft Skeeter and have never had a problem with it holding. Quote

3dees Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 I just traded my VT19 for a PT18. going with one 10' Talon. my VT19 had plenty of room for PP pumps and the VT18 has the same space. with the 115 you don't have the oil reservoir so there is more room. Quote
