I need a new spinning rod for under $125. I need one to throw wacky rigs, drop shots, and ned rigs on. What is a good recommendation.

I have a Abu Garcia Veritas 2.0 Medium Light 6'9 and I have abused the crap out of that thing and it has held up great. It acts more like a medium power backbone wise, but it has plenty of tip so i can feel even the slightest "ticks" when a fish strikes. I would also check out the Duckett ghost, St Croix Mojo Bass, Dobyn's Fury etc.) I would use anything 7ft and below and medium or medium light action (depending on how stiff the rod is) Tight Lines!

Welcome aboard!

There are a ton of rods in that price range, so my
best advice is to do what I did and visit some local
sporting goods stores like Bass Pro, Cabelas, etc.

There you should touch and feel each rod of interest
and put your reel on each one to see how it balances.

I found Bass Pro's Carbonlite rods to be very nice
balancing.

If balance is an issue, go short and look for the smallest possible guides, and of course, graphite.   I don't worry about balance.  I think it's a highly over-sold parameter.

Regarding power and action, I think no more power than a medium, and fast or Xfast action for what you want to do.  Wacky and drop shot would lead me toward a medium power, ned toward a medium light.

Take a look at a Powell Inferno 6103 MEF or a Dobyns Fury FR 702SF,

I'd check out the St. Croix Mojo Bass 6'10" ML/XF for what you're looking for. You can save 10% at TW right now if you purchase a gift card for yourself and redeem it on the rod.

For all 3 on one, for me I would go with something like 6'6"-7' M/F or even M/XF. Its tough cause usually ned/drop most like ML, with wacky most like M.

Good luck and let us know what you decide!

Great suggestion as well now that I read some of these posts!
