Currently trying to decide between buying a shimano nasci or a St. Croix mojo bass casting rod.  The Nasci would be replacing my plastic, squeaky $15 spinning reel and the Mojo Bass would be replacing either my Tourney Special rod or my Ugly Stik casting rod.

Any opinions?  The Nasci would be used for Ned rigs, drop shots, wacky rigs, and other finesse applications.  The Mojo Bass would either be my first frog rod, be a 6'8" Medium, or a 6'8" MH.  All Mojo Bass would be placed with a Quantum Energy PT 7:0:1 or 6:3:1.

If you have anything else to add, please do!

You need something a little more for frogs...something over 7' and either MH or preferably H action.  The NASCI is a great reel so it all depends on how much you fish frogs versus using a using a spinning reel.

Yeah braided line and a MH or H rod is usually the setup for throwing a frog. So I'd say the 7' 1" MH or the 7' 4" H is a better fit. And if you use a spinning reel a lot more than go with the Nasci, but if you mainly throw a frog than I would say go with the rod. But, the 15$ squeaky reel seems like not too much of a viable option so the Nasci seems like the one.

I would go with the casting rod and if you can scrape up 30 bucks id get a Sienna which performs great for its price.

Ended up finding 30% off of Cabelas brand rods and I had $30 off for going to black friday so I got the Tournament ZX for frogging and a spinnerbait Mojo Bass.

I'd probably get rid of the $15 plastic squeaker

(See above) I also have $25 dollars off so I'm hitting up the Nasci for $75.
