Fishingsouthernontario Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 I was recently fishing and snagged this interesting lure. Was wondering what it is possibly how old etc. https://docs.google.com/document/d/17YnA3FyqPNweL95aSbq9ydp-JAX-dH1k6gJFauiQT8E Quote
The Bassman Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Looks like a wood J-Plug. They're used a lot in the pacific northwest for trolling for salmon. 1 Quote

It definitely looks like one. I only know of one brand that was made of wood, but all the ones I've ever seen have those little ball bearing chains for the tie on, and a concave mouth. I'm wondering if this is a home brew. If it is that's pretty cool to find. Quote
Super User king fisher Posted December 7, 2016 Super User Posted December 7, 2016 Looks like a Canadian plug called Lyman. Similar to a J Plug, but made of wood, and has a solid line tie and hook hanger. Made in many different colors and sizes. Very popular for Lake trout in Canada, and the North West. 1 Quote
