1x EC EWG hooks 2.50$

1x Bullet sinkers 1/8oz 1.50$

1x Ribbon worms 2$

1x  Soft Jerkbait 2$

1x Dingers 2$

1x Lizards 2$

1x Craw 2$

1x Spinnerbait 1$

1x Buzzbait 1$

1x Justice jig 2.50$

That's a pretty good list. I would consider adding an inline spinner - they catch everything, are simple to use, and can be added for very little extra cost.

Does he/she has rod and reel already or are you gonna loan your?

I would skip squarebill and jig but buy instead different size worm hook for those lizard and dinger. Maybe add some 1/4 or 3/16 drop shot weight and dropshot hook.

Pond size spinner bait

Small, popping topwater

Bag of Senkos

Bag of Crosstail Shad, Roboworms, or other bait you like

Senko Hooks and DS hooks

1/2 oz DS weights

Print out instructions for the knots you can tie well, so you can teach him.

Give your friend a good book like In Pursuit of Giant Bass, Bill Murphy. Knowledge is the answer to catching bass consistantly, not lures.

Good point but without any lures it will be hard to put that knowledge to use

Texas rig is probably easier to start with than dropshot.. And I think you could use a 3/0 on all of those plastics and be fine.

@Gillroid 9000 I think you have a great list there. If there's one thing missing it'd be pliers

Well he knows how to do basic stuff like Knots and he used to go for catfish untill he saw me catching a 2-3  pounder. My local walmart doesnt have that much a selection and theres no Zman TRDs,Crosstail shad ETC. Well he knows the basics but lacks the techniques and Lures. Looks like im going to swap some stuff. Or just scrape the bottom for Extras. Looks like i gotta think.

And please NO expensive lures. This kit is mostly ment to be a kickstarter.

Yes he has the basic stuff like pliers,A knife,Mrasuring Ruler,Fishing line and a Fishing rod and reel.

So is buying online not an option here?   Are you just going by what can be found at your local Walmart?

Well the way I see it, in order to get someone started at "catching bass easily," and on a budget...Id say theres no real need to "cover most techniques and presentations."

I think it's pretty cool of you to be hooking your buddy up like this.

Tom's suggestion of book is a great idea.

I don't think there's a thing wrong with your list of lures but I would keep it real simple.  Inline spinner(s) & T rig supplies are mandatory in my opinion starting out.

Only thing that comes to mind would be some grubs, single or double probably doesn't matter. They catch fish and you could probably get some in your price range.

I'd trade out the squarebill for a lipless crankbait.  You can usually find Cotton Cordell Super Spots, Rat-L-Traps, and Strike King Red Eyed Shads at Wal-Mart.  I'd also swap out another item for a couple packs of grubs and some 1/8 oz jigheads.  Also, pick him/her a 1/8 oz rooster tail in either white or black.
