X-102c vs. LMS-480

I just got my tax return back the other day and it was more then I thought it would be and now I want to buy a new depth finder but I cant deside on the 102c or the lms480. I like the color of the 102c then I like the wattage and the gps of the lms-480 so what one would you chose and why? and dose any have these units pros/cons.

I'm not sure about the price on the x-102c but if you like the color unit try the 332c. It really seems to be the 480 but in color. Last year I was really looking at the 480 until at the last minute I went color and got the 332. Also, An advantage if you think you are gonna be on lakes where gps would be good for find your way back to the launch or a spot color is nice. Each time you go out setting the trail you make to a different color can be very useful. It helped me to see where I went each day in practice at my last tournament. Hope this is some help.

can I get the 332c without the gps then later on install gps for it. b/c the 332c with out gps is $50 cheaper then the 102c. and how much would gps be to install in the 332c later on.

Well I just looked at a few adds and it would seem like you can. Especially since it is compatable with Lowrance Net, it would seem like you should be able to add gps later. However, before you buy it I'd check with where ever you are planning to buy it at. You could also wait and see if someone here can give you a better answer. Again hope this helped.

bassdocktor thanks for all your help. I think Im will get the 332c the only thing is I will be ordering it through my work so I wont be able to mess around with it so if anyone has one I would like to know what you think about it

No problem. I know there are a few others here that have them and as I said it is basically the 480 with color. Another idea is download the emulator at home and you can check it out just go to Lowrance's webstie for that. Also do a search because I know the 332c has been discussed here before.

thanks for all your help bassdocktor, I found a GOOD deal on cabelas last night and I think im going to get it its a lowrance X-15 its on sale for $399 (reg.$699-$1100) its got tons of wats lots of pixles and a huge screen. its a little out dated but I think its a lot of unit for the price. and Ill get the lms-332c later on for the dash. agin thanks

Glad I could help. I saw that one before and it seemed like a nice unit. I can understand waiting on the 332c because I saw they recently raised the price on it for this year. I think the main reason I got it was because it was financed with the boat. Good luck with the new unit.

the only reseason Im holding off on the 332c is b/c I dont know how much longer the x15 is going to be on sale. and to me the x-15 is a better unit it has 3,000 watts vs. the 332c that has 2400 watts. I might try to sell the units on my boat now to but the 332c. and do you know how much a GPS moudle(spelling???) for a x-15 would cost ive been seeing like $275 dose that sound right?

Unfortunately I'm not sure on the price. Although, I do believe that Lowrance only has about 2 or 3 gps receivers(the white thing). You should be able to do a search for that particular one pretty easily. Also try one of the stores that sell through ebay. It would be a good place to check for the receiver. It seems like you've got a good deal on the unit already so you might check there.

I just checked on ebay the cheapest one I found was $184. I got to thinking about selling my old units I was thinking hpw much should I sell them for I have a x51 and a humminbird xp2000. I checked to see how much there running on ebay and the x51 was going at about $90 and the humminbird I couldnt find anyone selling one then I check on google and I could not any thing about it I dont know how many watts it has or pixels or the retail price. have you heard of this unit it came on a 2003 Tracker tournament v-18 if that helps. but I was thinking mabe $50 or so???

I'm not really sure about that unit. I've pretty much stuck with Lowrance for the last few years. I wish I could be more help. If it is like the x51 I'd charge the same price. Like I said I really don't know that unit. Look around at some old posts because you can find some guys that use humminbird. I'll try and see if later I can find a price on that for you. 184 was the cheapest I found too. That price is still better than 275 through cabelas.
