Avalonjohn44 Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 I was skeptical, but bought one from Walmart. I went fishing last night, and now wish I had bought ten. I am completely sold on these baits. The action is amazing. The fish absolutely killed this lure. I missed the first two fish on it, (my fault for not paying attention), but I nailed the third - a nice 2 pounder. Problem is, he ripped the bait up so badly I couldn't use it anymore. I know from the hits I was getting before the bait was trashed that I would have caught a dozen more fish if I had more of them. I bought the pre-rigged version and fished it as-is. I see on Ebay that youcna get these unrigged. Do you guys fish these with a simple lead head hook, or do you rig them another way? Quote
Laineisbosshog Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 i have used the lead head hook myself, but i have not had any luck with the lure yet, it does have great action though like you said. i have not used the lure a whole lot but will try it some this weekend, i hope to have the same luck you have had. Super User Matt Fly Posted June 1, 2007 Super User Posted June 1, 2007 You might try reading an article in the central section written by Lake Fork Guide Tom Reddington on how to rig the LF Magic Shad. It might be a page or two back, its been a few months. Give this one a look see!!! http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1166206401/4#4 Matt Quote

Brad_Coovert Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 I rig the 4 1/2" Live Magic Shad on a Mustad 4/0 Ultra Lock Impact Hook. Hookups have been very good. Brad Quote
