They have them on sale for 89, are they worth it? I have three pro qualifiers already and I'm looking for a reel to use throwing jerkbaits.

For $89 I don't think you can find a nicer reel.  The braking system is awesome and its feather light.  Its more comfortable than the PQ and not such a heavy clunker :)

Carbonlite casting reel is light weight. it's right there in weight with the higher end Shimanos, Daiwas, and Lews.

I have the left hand version and it has been a very good, reliable reel. I bought my during the reel trade a couple years ago and at $90 that's a great deal. the dual braking works great too, just like on a Lews dual braking casting reels.

Where else are going to find a casting reel with a carbon fiber handle for less than $100 brand new?

Also has the carbon drag. Tons of high end features for $89

I don't know anything about the new models, but I have a couple of the gold colored ones from years ago.  Love those suckers.  Not fond of the color, but I can cast 3/16 oz. Shad Raps with ease using these reels.  Dual braking.  Nice reels.  I've got reels costing a lot more that can't do any better.

I've got an older gold one as well and it's a great little reel. I was tempted by the sale too. If they're anything like the older ones they're a steal at $89

Just a little hesitant after reading some of the reviews and they talk about gears grinding.  I'm looking for a reel to through jerkbaits and possibly small toowater.

You got lemons with any reel.  What's the overall rating?  Mine you can't hardly backlash if you want to.

Lemons. I was surprised when I got 2 different curado 71 HG with problems. finally have one....so far seems perfect.

Ok thanks for the input, they run about 3.5 outta 5. Think I'll try one out seeing as they are less right now than the pro. Appreciate the feedback!

If you can check em out in store then you can have em show you a few.

Wish that was an option, I'm about a 6 hour drive to the one nearest me. I haven't had a bad real yet so I'm going to go ahead and give it a try and see how it does
