Super User Bankbeater Posted December 6, 2016 Super User Posted December 6, 2016 I have a bunch of the old Mr. Twister sassy shads. They work great this time of year. 1 Quote

A guide once taught me and a old club buddy a technique with these, that I have never forgotten and I use every year since. I have lately bought a bunch of different "newer" swimbaits and have yet to really fish them, I got some keitech's, ragetails, berkley's, (that are quite lifelike looking),some prerigged storms, and a few jackalls. But the sassy shad? as of now is my favorite as it has produced for me over many years. 1 Quote
Steveo-1969 Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Wow, there are SO many choices when it comes to soft paddletail swimbaits and I really don't have a favorite because I've caught fish on every brand/model that I've tried. I always have one tied on. Quote

Super User WRB Posted December 6, 2016 Super User Posted December 6, 2016 The action that triggers strikes is how the head moves with the tail moving at a slow retrieve. The swimmer shouldn't snake, it should have side to side head movement while the tail swims. The Rage Tail swimmer has the right action, like a miniature Hudd. Tom Quote

unhallowed Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 I grabbed a bunch of the megabass spark shad the other day since my bps was running a sale. Loving the action on them, but haven't gotten to fully fish them yet. I typically use keitech fats, havoc grasspigs, and zoom swimming flukes. Quote
Sheepdog Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Surprised I haven't seen them mentioned, but I like the PTL swinging hammers. I also like the keitechs, and I'll probably be giving the rage tails a try next. Quote
bagofdonuts Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 gambler big ez, and the little ez for swim jig trailers. cheaper and tougher than most and have a different rolling action to them. Quote

Hogsticker Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 I ordered about 75 dollars of soft plastics from Japan lure shop. Shipping came to 17 bucks. Not too bad. Quote
