I found these the other day. The tiny one is a Rebel Teeny-R

The white one, is a creek chub darter. I am going to restore it I think. I'll post about it when I get more pictures and get further along on it.

I found these a few days ago too. I gave the frog, choppo and rooster tail copy to a new angler I'm helping get started.

That old one is a frog crank bait is is marked paw paw. I haven't done any research on it yet.

Yep, I did some research and found what it is. The hardware is actually in good shape. I may try to replace the wood and hooks and duplicate it if I get energetic. I'll have to do some research on if it actually works first though. No telling how long it's b been out there, but it was in an easy spot not far from where everyone stands to cast.

What an awesome couple of finds those classic lures are!  The frog is so recognizable that I would keep it the way it is and display it as a testament to the classics and to lure hunting at the same time.

Also, you found it on a 3-WP day!  Those don't come around often enough in my book.

I've found that same color Googan jerk before.

It used to be the only lures I ever saw with that holographic reflector tape was the cheap unbranded baits like on ebay, but now the big players are starting to use it.

I've always said that if I lived on a lake and had a dock, I would have contraptions that would collect lures underneath my dock with ropes to pull them up when I wanted to check them :devil3:

Read somewhere that a guy sank a bed mattress spring at a good fishing spot….brought it up every so often & had many baits!

I ain't had much in the way of lures lately, though I've found a few usable bobbers and crappie jig, and a couple soft plastics in good shape.

Found about half a dozen worms that had been left to bake alive the other day. I saved them from that demise and sent them to a watery grave on my boy's hook.

Went fishing to Freeman Lake yesterday, and had little luck from the bank, except for the finding.

Found a floating fish basket, a tub of catfish bait, and about 40' of good braided line.

And the best... a catchco baby bull gill in bass color. Hooks need replacing. It was laying, attached to a limb floating in the water, in the corner of the lake that everyone passes by and fishes at, very visible.

I'll tell yall a funny one, even though the hooks were in bad shape I tied on the bull gill and fished it a while after I found it. I got snagged up in the rocks pretty bad and finally got it loose by walking the shore the other way. I went to cast again, and even though I checked my line for abrasions I didn't check the knot. When I went to cast, on the backswing, the lure came free of the knot and slung behind me on the shore. We spent about 10 minutes looking for it and finally found it again.  I must have abraded the line right at the knot and not noticed when I checked the line immediately in front of the lure.

I stole the hooks from another lure to put on it so it'll be fresh for next trip if I don't have time to sharpen the hooks that was on it beforehand.

Found this Mini Hula Popper today, floating in the lake about 6' from shore. It had about 8 feet of line attached; hooks still sharp and clean; a little dingy, but it cleaned up real nice.

2.5 years ago I lost a megabass vision 110 fx I ordered from Japan while fishing from my kayak. It was my first FX version and I was very upset my leader failed me. Today, while fishing the 80 acre lake, I saw something floating - it was my jerkbait with all the hooks rusted away and the long Fluoro leader still attached.

I drug that area at end that day and never found it. It was floating pretty close to where it went sailing. I think it's shot but it's cool to find it...

Lack of rain around here has lakes down 15'+.  Took a walk to a recently exposed concrete foundation.  3 spinner baits, fogy(mine), a-rig(mine), 2 rattle traps, and various jig heads and swollen plastics scattered around.  Sad part was nothing was salvageable.   After 4 sunny days in the mind 90's the deeper end should now be exposed so I'll head back out today to remove line and other items with the hope of something decent.

Made it back to the lake over lunch today.  Nothing too exciting and this time only 1 item was mine (Siebert jig lost in March)  Rattles traps are salvageable, dark sleeper has corrosion on the hook point, and wouldn't trust the a-rig.  There's another 12' of concrete not exposed yet, but would rather have the rain.  Fish were still biting.

Nothing going on round these parts in the lure finding department, so I decided to go the other way, losing my only Chatterbait and a Beetlespin the last two couple times I went fishing.

I bet that'll clean up just fine. Spray nine and let it set about half an hour, then hot water, dawn and a toothbrush would be just the ticket.

I'm kinda surprised that the hooks rusted off in such a short time. Cool find though.

I wasn't going to hunt this weekend, but yesterday on a bike ride I got the top left Rapala and I spotted lures at 3 other sites, so today I did an early morning lightning round with my kayak and I got these.  My first Frittside(s), I like them a lot.  I had to dig out my 24' pole for the Yo Zuri - wow it was up there.

Wow that's a nice haul. I don't use a lot of rooster tail type lures, but a mepps would draw my attention pretty quick. That whole lot is right up my alley. I especially like the black popper. I've never seen one with a chartreuse dressed hook.

I once caught back to back 6+ pound catfish on a jointed minnow, not in firetiger however. I was fishing a pond for bass, using a 5.5" jointed minnow in silver. I caught a heck of a channel cat, and had a deliar with me and weighed him it was 6-6.5 pounds. I threw him back and then fished a few minutes and got another just like him. I always wondered if it was the same fish, but I didn't think so as it weighed just a touch different. The last one however mangled my lure beyond repair. It ripped the rear wire clear out of the body halfway up that section, mangled the line attachment in a similar fashion but less badly, and chewed it extensively. I mean that lure was scratched to the wood in some spots from that cats lips. I took the hooks out of the lure and kept it for a trophy for years until I lost it when my house burnt.

Found an algae-covered BBZ Rat floating at the bank today. Hardware was rusted and needs replaced but the bait cleaned up pretty good. Looked like they were throwing it on 6lb mono, no wonder they broke it off....380412067_848557700268496_2452632118308299275_n.thumb.jpg.f44ab0fe20d870d81902b2f305241f39.jpg379583420_302308225755701_421299831386734987_n.thumb.jpg.e26969057b80cc8c011db862a6c737ee.jpg

OK, so the other night I'm fishing out back of my hotel around 8 pm and I run a chatterbait over one of the brush piles that that I set up in our creek channel. Sure enough I get snagged. I walk up and down the bank trying to get an angle to free and and use my trusty bow and arrow technique but it breaks off.

I fish for a while, stop, then head out for a few casts around 11 pm. Even with the dock lights it's tough to see out there. After a few casts I go to cast again and my rod and bait feel weird. I grab the bait and there a line wrapped around it, so of course I hand line it and pull it in.

It's the chatterbait I lost earlier in the evening. Go figure.

I haven't had much in the way of baits lately. I lost my only Chatterbait a while back, but about a week ago, found a good condition replacement hanging in a bush that was easily accessed.

Today, my boy was playing in the shallow part, and climbed up on a log, and found this Googan Squad Jr Scout. It has a bit of rust on the hooks, but otherwise is in good shape. I must admit that it's quite fun finding lures and then identifying them.

Found 3 baits yesterday, Ozark Trail popper, BPS "The Egg", and a Spro Rock Crawler in Phantom Red craw. Not often I find a bait that gets added to my box but I'll be keeping that Rock Crawler.

A few decent ones lately. 1/4oz trap, Nomad squarebill, KVD Hard Knocker, and an H2OX popper. A 1/4oz jig too. I'll have a lifetime of swivels and assorted hooks in styles I never use before its over.
