Luhr Jensen has made several good baits.

You mean like in the past? I looked at their website and Tackle Warehouse, and that's the only crankbait I saw. Their site looked like mostly inline spinners. Did I miss something?

Yeah I don't know if they still do but they use to make other good ones like the Hot Lips Express.

Here's a cool one I found yesterday - a small Chug Bug with supersized hooks attached with snap swivels.  They're at least #2 hooks, and it looks like the guy doing the upgrade decided rings weren't worth messing with.

I wondered if Friday's chug bug would still float with those huge hooks, so I dropped it in water and ... nope. It looked surprised after sinking so quickly.  On the other hand, it has wear marks from the original hooks so at least it got plenty of real use before its transectomy.

Those hooks look like they came off a large jointed pikie from the 50s.

I found one of these fishing my local reservoir. 6th Sense Quake. It was hanging from a tall pole on the end of a dock. I had to snag it with my frog rod. I have a buddy who fishes there a lot and asked him if it was his. Negatory, so it's mine. I wish it was gold. That works better where I fish. But I have probably 10 gold lipless cranks.

I haven't looked at all the colors available for these and wow I love this bluegill pattern. I love lipless but I need to throw them more.

I've had a either a lipless or a blade bait tied on since December. My favorite is the H20 brand from Academy. I have a bunch of Traps and Spots, but this gets it done.

This Lucky Craft pointer 75 must've been snagged underwater for years. Both hooks were vaporized leaving only the split rings. The entire lure was totally blackened, and it didn't want to come off. Not even off the bill. I grabbed a bottle of my wife's Spray Nine, hit it with a shot, waited a few minutes, and the black wiped right off. A couple of #4 VMCs and I'll have a LC Pointer in Tennessee Shad to play around with. Neat.

Anyone recognize this lipless? Has an eagle or hawk on the eye. Found it snagged on a fence, hadn't been there long. 20220515_134148.thumb.jpg.f7b5020674c6925637cb225d8e8c0ccb.jpg20220515_134101.thumb.jpg.fbf587e8166fc6b697029ac1af4de251.jpg

Might just be Lunkerhunt Kraken Series...possibly an older model.

Vicious made a VXV series lipless.  It looked like that.

Looks like their logo in the eye.

I found a 6th sense jerkbait almost brand new and also a shakey head jig and these 2 baits are now my most productive

Not many lures lately, but I found another knife today. These are all knives I have found while fishing.

The big one spent a few years underwater. I found it alongside a rod and reel covered with algae and stuff when the lake was down. I think someone must have capsized their kayak there.

The red one with the little scissors is exactly what I use to cut fishing line -- the scissors are great for cutting line.  I wish I could find those!

I dropped a blue one in a lake in 2020 when I was cutting a found lure's line off a sunken tree, and I had a really hard time the rest of the trip without scissors or a knife, so ever since then I carry two.

Found several lures at my tournament this weekend, including another 90 plopper. None of the rest were overly exciting.

So I snagged some braid like about 50 yards of the stuff

On the end was this set up.

I saw a wacky rig with about a 1/2oz bullet weight rigged above it in a tree last night. I bet that cast a mile.

A lot of the stuff I find is a real mystery. For that one, I’d guess someone was fishing with what little they had, and maybe they didn’t know how to tie knots. Maybe they were using their dad’s stuff.

It reminds me of something I found a few weeks ago - a Bass Pro Shop Graphite Series casting rod with the foot of a spinning reel in the reel seat. The base stem of the reel had apparently broken, so they threw away a rod that sells for about $35. I never found the reel, I guess they threw it in the lake. Other than the cork being a little stained, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the rod. Why they had a spinning reel on a casting rod, I don’t know. Too poor to buy a casting reel, but rich enough to throw away a perfectly good rod. :Idontknow:

You laugh but Shin Fukae is going to introduce this at I-cast as the new hot rig from Japan.
