dnj21 Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 Found a Suspending Rougue in Table Rock color (my favorite) Sunday!! Of course this was 30 seconds after casting it & having my line snap as I sent it off to the middle of the lake in choppy waves. Off I go, full power on the trolling motor and trying to keep my eyes locked on the spot. Trying to think glass half full here!! 1 Quote
Pacoac10 Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 Over the past 2 years I snagged broken off lines with my spinnerbaits. I've gotten a Stanley spinnerbait, culprit spinnerbait, and a culprit buzzbait. Descent condition and all 3 have caught fish. Quote
Falkus Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 Besides several lures, - I actually found a Nice GShock Watch on bank. It is still ticking and working well Quote
mllrtm79 Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 was able to get out to a local (very) small pond yesterday morning. I got hung up on a laydown on the far side of the pond, so I took a walk in the woods. I came out to the bank and there was this silver Pop-R. Two steps down the bank was the second one. Nice to find something other than ticks for a change. 3 1 Quote
Lures'n'Liberty Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 I have a good friend that lives near some really popular stocked trout waters in a state park, most of which is pretty heavily wooded with branches overhanging 7-12 feet above the water. By the third week of trout season, the branches look like they're decorated for Christmas from all the people who trout fish with hangovers one weekend a year. I went lure hunting with him one day. We covered one side of the creek for about a mile pulling down branches with a homemade grappling hook tied to some paracord and scored over 150 various lures in one day. He said his best season was 1500 lures, mostly Joe Flies and other small spinners. While my friend lies a lot, I am inclined to believe him. He works in the ski and snow industry so he spends most summers hunting, fishing, and collecting unemployment. He takes the found lures to the flea market and it's a real boost to his income. Quote
TheRodFather Posted June 12, 2017 Author Posted June 12, 2017 Boy you guys are really racking them up. I haven't found anything yet this year. Lost a couple X-raps though Quote
Super User Munkin Posted June 13, 2017 Super User Posted June 13, 2017 Best lure I have found is a SPRO BBZ on Black Hills Lake Seneca. I thought it was a dead fish until I got closer. Allen Quote
Blackhawk83 Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Lady Luck smiled on me this weekend had a nice bass hit my KVD frog and pull into some really thick milfoil and lily pads. Struggled to turn the fish and frog was thrown on its first jump into some brush. 10 min later and many thanks to some 20# braided line I was able to break a limb free so I could retrieve my frog. Much to my surprise I was also able to retrieve a nice chartreuse colored terminator Spinnerbait and couple of Norman little N's. All in all not a bad day in east Tx. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 13, 2017 Global Moderator Posted June 13, 2017 I haven't been fishing as much this year due to a tremendous amount of OT at work, but I'm still finding my share (and probably more). Had to hop out of the boat and wade up the shoreline to retrieve a customers bait from a bush along the shoreline last Friday, was rewarded when I found this guy hiding on one of the roots of the same bush. UPSmallie Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 Managed to go snorkeling on the last day of summer for me and pick up some lures. Didn't do too bad, but I know there is a hot area that still needs to be picked. Couldn't get to it because there were some people salmon fishing over it. Will have to go out on a rainy day when people aren't fishing. Water temps 59 degrees still feels ice cold in a wet suit though! 1 Quote
BuzzHudson19c Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 Found a Rapala shad rap, a jitterbug, and a Jimmy Houston signature super spook so far. Quote
OCdockskipper Posted May 20, 2019 Posted May 20, 2019 Sorry to open up an old thread, but this fits. I found the Deps Buzzjet Jr. pictured below snagged on a boat cover today. It was about 25 yards from a common area, so I am guessing the original owner was fishing from bank, made a bad cast and decided to break off the line rather than ring the owners doorbell to ask to retrieve it. At a Tackle Warehouse price of $25.95, I would have swam over to the dock to get it back!! My 3 most expensive lures (this and a pair of Gantrel Jr's) were all found lures. Either I am way too cheap to buy expensive gear or teenagers in Orange County have money burning a hole in their pockets. 6 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted May 20, 2019 Global Moderator Posted May 20, 2019 Found another 90 Whopper Plopper a couple weeks ago, bone colored. Changed hooks and straight into my box. I've now found 9 ploppers in less than a year, I guess the benefit to them being so popular. Quote

Maybe if I could find one like you I'd give one a chance. Quote

They're one of my go to baits gor guide trips too because they're so simple to fish, just hurts everytime someone loses one. So far the record is 3 ploppers in 1 day lost by the same client. Quote

blckshirt98 Posted May 23, 2019 Posted May 23, 2019 I've found a handful of lures from the bank but the best thing I ever found was a Leatherman Wave multitool. 1 Quote

I lost it several years ago and would like to get it back. It was my goto lure. 1 2 Quote

Rpratt Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 I wasn't having much luck out fishing Table Rock at Big Cedar Lodge and flipped a jig under a dock and hooked into a Zebco 33 rod and reel combo. It was a good fight there for a few seconds.... ? 1 1 Quote

It was a good fight there for a few seconds.... ? I hooked the line on a rod and reel a few days ago. I've caught them before, so I know what it feels like. Unfortunately the fisherman that lost this rod didn't tie a decent knot when they spooled the line, because I could feel it easily come loose after I had already reeled in about 50 yards of their line. 1 Quote

I guess it was incorrect drag setting or worn line. Whatever it was, I'm sure that fish feels a lot better now. 1 Quote
YoTone Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 i snagged a line that had a brand new black chatterbait. i tied it on and left it on for 2 years and its been a bass slaying machine. 3 Quote
