Gillroid 9000 Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Alrighty heres an review of my new reel i fished for 160 to just 60 bucks. Stats -Sablos Pro Carbon Spinning Reel -By Wright And Mcgill(Eagle Claw) -Made in China:( -6:0:1 Gear ratio -Bought it from Cabelas Online (Hurry up before discount exspires) -MSRP 160$(On sale for 70 right now ) -Paired with a Shimano Sellus(2 PC,Cork handle,Medium,Fast action) -9+1 Ball bearings -8.3 Ounces -Line recovery Inch/Turn=35.5 -14LBS max drag My first impressions were that the reel was no 50$ reel. It felt Smooth,Featherlight,Exquisite and Handsome. The reel came with no extra spool, but came with Gear and Drag washer lube. I noticed that the Reel looked similar too The Pflueger Patriarch XT. My first unboxing Impressions were excellent so i decided to Slap some Stern Mono(10LBS) and go out. The casting was Smooth and Ellegant and the fast gear ratio was helpfull for Finesse-Soft plastic fishing. I decided to test the drag by tying my line to a Pole to test the Drag. The drag never slipped and did not have any problems. But i noticed the reel is fragile and needs good care. But i didnt mind it so i decided to put it into the test. I noticed that there was Slight paint chipped away and tended to make grinding noises. But the reel was perfectly fine and with a quick drop of oil the grinding noises stopped. The bail had no problems and helped the line be abrasion free. The reel handled Bass pretty welll thanks to the usefull gizmos in the reel. i rate this reel a 8-9/10 Pros=Smooth,Light,Great looking,Fast gear ratio,Powerfull drag system,Carbon body and handle,Aliminum Spool, No plastic parts. Cons=Fragile,Needs frequent mantience everytime.,Price?,Made in China I highly recommend this reel and suggests to get this reel FAST before the discount goes off. The reel is Avaiable at WWW.Cabelas.com for 70$ currently. There will be a Another update to this reel review to see if it can survive the obstacles up ahead. Enjoy and have a nice day ? Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 30, 2016 Global Moderator Posted November 30, 2016 Hmmm, the reel is fragile, has paint chipping out of the box, and making grinding noises and needs frequent maintenance but it gets an 8-9/10 rating? An 8.3oz spinning reel doesn't sound very "Featherlite", either, especially a carbon fiber reel. I hope it works out for you in the long run. 1 Quote

I have no experience with this reel, but I've had a W&M Skeet Reese caster and it was the biggest hunk and junk I've ever owned. My first caster ever a $30 Rhino was way better! Quote

I had that Rhino reel also. My wife bought it when I was on a trip with her so that i could fish. It was an RBC300, I think. Never any problems with it and I caught some nice fish. Finally got rid of it when I was clearing out stuff for my move to the mountains. Good reel for the money 1 Quote

I hope so too man. 8.3oz may not sound really featherlight but it is sure lighter then my old Solastace(15-16oz) And im starting to get a bad feeling why they were selling it soooo cheap. ._. Time to get the warranty info Quote
