Good "All Around" Reaction Bait Rod

Let me start this off by letting everyone know that I fish from the bank 90% of the time so I like to pack light for fishing trips. I also just started using baitcasting gear recently so I'm building my arsenal up. Anyways, I'm picking out a new rod and reel for myself for Christmas from my wife and I need some advice. I'm looking for a rod that will be good for reaction baits. I'd say 50% of my reaction bait fishing is lipless cranks, 25% squarebills, 20% spinnerbaits, and 5% chatterbait. What power and action would you guys recommend to cover all of these bases?

MH fast or moderate fast.

Depending on your budget I could recommend a few different rods for you. For $50 you could get a 7 foot medium heavy lightning rod shock. It's rated as fast but it fishes more like a mod fast . For $100 look at the dobyns fury 734. For $150 I can recommend the iRod Genesis 2 7' 2" stone cold swim jig/ vibrating jig rod

Personally for chatterbaits lipless and spinnerbaits I throw a 7' med power fast action but thats just my personal. For weights I almost exclusively use 3/8 oz. for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits and 1/2 oz. for lipless. As for squarebills I don't fish them too much but when I do I throw them on this rod.

I throw spinnerbairs, swim jigs and chatterbaits on a 7' mh/f, and treble hooks on a medium or medium heavy moderate or moderate fast rod. So for all around I would go with a mh/mf.

For myself, a spinnerbait rod is a MH-F and lipless and square bills are MH-MF. Now, depending on your budget you can cover the spectrum with a Hammer rod, a 7' MH, the Hammer rods all have a parabolic bend but they aren't soft, so you have enough power to drive home large diameter single hooks and it still has the forgiveness needed to fight fish hooked on treble hooks. The awesome part is the rod has a lot of sensitivity so you could actually use it for T-rigged worms and jigs as well, I have a 6'9" Heavy power and it has been the best spinnerbait and chatterbait rod I ever used period.

I have been using a MH-F spinning rod for reaction baits and that is where I feel most comfortable. I was looking at the Daiwa Tatula XT shallow crank and jerkbait rod. 7' MH-M

Personally, I'd be throwing all those on a MH/F if I was trying to simplify things. That's probably the best all around power/action rod out there. If you back your drag off considerably when you're using the treble hook baits, it'll help to keep the fish pinned. It won't do as good of a job as a moderate action, but it'll be decent and then you can still use it for those other techniques as well. To make it more "all around" you can even use it for jigs and t-rigs, and light carolina rigs as well.
