It's not the married part alone that makes it difficult. It's the married + little rugrat running around part. My wife likes to fish, but if we take my daughter, one of us isn't going to be able to fish, and it's not gonna be me. I'll count my blessings though, because next year I'll get to teach the little one how to fish.

This is just a guess but I suspect that 99 percent of the time any woman who allows you to fish 200 days a year looks like Igor and has a hump on her back.

Probably 15-20 since I bought my rod in July. I'm hoping to squeeze in 3 more trips before the end of the year and obviously next year I'll put up better numbers!

What is awesome is when they are finally old enough to take an interest in fishing. Not only does it provide for some great quality time together, but in teaching them from the basics up, you will find that you get a chance to go back and relearn things maybe a little better yourself, or maybe return to some great techniques that you for whatever reason left behind.

Here's my youngest with his first catch of the day from last weekend (he outfished me on the whole day).

Yeah, I definitely can't wait for that. It might give me a chance to slow down and relax for once.

I'll be just over 300 days this years, it helps I work at the lake, so I can fish before, during (lunch break), and after work daily

I don't really keep track or anything but I'd say im around 125 days or so. Half of those days are just short shore trips where I'm at a lake 2 hours or less and 15 or so were saltwater trips.

When taking a youngster fishing for the first few times, relax aint on the agenda. Fun, yes. Rewarding, yes. Making memories, yep. Relaxing, uh, not gonna happen.

I would probably not fish and just supervise and help my daughter. It's gotta be more relaxing than paddling like a maniac all over the lake and casting or pitching as many times as I possibly can in 12 hours :-)

Actually, this year was an improvement in time fishing because I retired in January.  Around June of this year I was speaking with a customer where I work part-time and he mentioned a bass club.  This club is small and all the Members are over 55 and oldest is early to mid-Seventies.  Turned out that four of the Members are guys I fished tournaments and clubs back in the day.  Twenty to twenty-five years ago.  We do two club tournaments a month from April through October and I got some practice days in on reservoirs I have never fished before.  So I would say I got 25 days in fishing this year.  Sure beats the time I  used to spend on the road for a company.

Hoping this year will be an improvement over last.  Looking forward to making all of the club tournaments and many trips away with my wife.  Something will have to give and it will probably be work.

Fished 98 days this year. Usually get around 150 days a year, but the river fishing was really down this year. Many of my trips are on my way to work, so they are shorter, but it is still fishing:)

Now that the lakes around here are iced over and i'm done for the year, I finished with a total of 268 days fishing.  I would like to hope that the ice will be thick enough to get out ice fishing on before new years, but I doubt it will.
