Garmin Striker 4 DV

I am receiving a Garmin Striker 4 DV for Christmas. Does anyone have any time on the water with this unit or any pro's/con's to share?  (Sorry for the change, After reading Scott F's post I changed my order to a Lawrence-4-Lake with CHIRP Transducer, Built-in GPS Antenna, Lake Pro Cartography, and Cover.)

Considering this is an entry level depthfinder, It is amazing how much technology comes with a unit in this price range compared with just a few years ago. The only real differences between this and units costing 10X as much is the size of the screen and the lack of maps. Besides that, it has everything you need. Color screen with good resolution, it has regular and down view sonar, shows the depth, temperature, the speed you are moving, shows the track you have moved along and can mark waypoints that you can return to. With the GPS not having a map that shows you where you are on the lake or where to look for deep or shallow water, it's about the only "con" I can think of. I think you will be very happy with this unit.

I'm looking at asking for it for Christmas too. Has some pretty impressive features. Does anyone know if it comes with a tm transducer mount?

They usually do. Even if it doesn't, you can just use a hose clamp to attach the bracket that comes with the unit to your TM.

If you go on the west marine website it does say it comes with one, after reading Scott F's reply, I am now going to call and have the order changed to the Lawrence Hook-4-Lake with CHIRP Transducer, Built in GPS Antenna, Lake Pro Cartography and Cover. They have it priced down 45% until 12/24/16. I want the maps function, and this is preloaded with Navionics maps, and for just $50.00 more it seems worth it. with free shipping. After both Scott's and Wayne P. 's posts I think this is the better value for a cheaper finder.  What say you Scott F?
