Going sometime in summer and would like to get a couple hours of fishing in.

Wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions for a spot.

The only body of water I even saw was the reservoir, can you fish there?

Lake havasu has good largemouth and small mouth fishing. Went and watched the elites fish it and they absolutely pounded them.

Yea you can fish lake mead. I have friends I fish with and they say it's a hard fishery even from a boat. I never fished it when living there. Good luck

Get ready to fish at night or early morning, 3am to 9am, during the summer. Vegas heat is no joke. Call the Bass Pro in Vegas for info and a list of guides they might know.

Mead is almost impossible from shore right now with how low it is. I would recommend Havasu, or Sand Hollow in St. George Utah, about 1.5 hours from Vegas.

Check the average day time and night time temperatures during the time you plan to be in Vegas, 106/74 is close during the summer.

Lakes Mead and Mohave are the 2 close bass lakes to Vegas, both are big desert lakes that you need a guide to fish the 1st time or fish around the marinas from shore.

I can take you out,I also have a buddy that guides and can put you in contact with him.

Mead is definitely not impossible to fish from shore as I do it all the time.

It is definitely a tough lake however there are some great spots from shore.

Mohave is also fishable from shore.

You just gotta put in the work ...

If you are planning on fishing I would seriously suggest you come early summer no later than the end of june.

Anything past that and the heat really complicates things.

There are also some urban ponds that hold fish.

I have houseboated on Mead 6 or 7 times during the summer and while you can indeed chase largemouths, I would suggest you consider stripers instead.  Bring your bass gear with topwaters, lipless crankbaits & jerkbaits and get out early looking for the boils.  The stripers will continue to hammer shad at the surface until it becomes too uncomfortably hot to continue fishing.

If you don't have access to a boat, get a guide.
