Djf3864 Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 Only about three years seriously. Used to fish as a kid but gave it up when I hit my teenage years, picked it back up when I hit 31 years old. 1 Quote

EvanT123 Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 Probably about 20 years or so. Went on vacation in the Adirondacks every summer as a kid and would catch bass and bluegill off the dock and go dow.n to the locks and catch herring during the spring run. Didn't do a lot of fishing from about 13-18 due to other interests mainly baseball, wrestling and the ladies I remember being bored one summer day around the age of 18 and thought. I'm going to start fishing again. Went to dicks sporting goods and bought an ugly stick spinning combo. Fished that for quite a few years. Then got a smart phone and thought what happens if you google bass fishing and found BR and well been here ever since. Quote

Fished alot until I was 16 and able to start dating, then sporadic through the beginning of marriage & starting a family. As the kids got older and my responsibilities changed, I reverted back to pre-teen form . Almost exactly the same. Started a couple a years earlier but followed that type pattern. Quote
DoDFire Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 40 years now.....Saying that makes me feel like an Old Fart. Fish are still smarter than me, that's what I've learned in 40 years. Hahaha Quote
fishingram24 Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Caught my first bass in 1977 at the age of 23. Not stopped since so 39 years. Quote
doublest Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Caught my 1st LM a 3 3/4lber in 1953 on a Black shore minnow Heddon Scissortail,on black nylon line on an old Shakespeare reel mounted on a 5' steel rod. Rather comical occurrence. I'll never forget, my father who was permanently crippled from a birth defect stumbled and fell in the pond trying to insure my catch was landed. That was the first and last fish landed on that Scissortail. Quote
Last_Cast Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Summer of 2013 when i took it seriously. Quote
Snipe Hunter Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 First bass was in Chico Creek Ca on a black Creme worm, 1973. I was eleven... so 44 years. Quote
GLK Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 It all started 43 years ago on a farm pond with a top water Rapala. Time flies when you're having fun. 1 Quote
Megastink Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 I've been obsessed with bass fishing since I was six years old. I'll be 30 next month. Quote
JRammit Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 My dad started taking me fishing soon as I got out of diapers... But he wasn't into bass fishing, you look in his tackle box all you would see is hooks weights and a bunch of red n white plastic corks I was about 10 years old when I started watching Bill Dance, Roland Martin and Jimmy Houston... That's when I got the bug!.... Bass fishing was my whole world until I was about 18 or 19 and I got into other stuff I picked the rod back up when I was 25 and fishing became my world again, but I was after everything that swims.... Only about 3 years ago (I'm 36 now) I came down with a major case of the "bass flu"... Now it's all I think about day and night! Quote
SFL BassHunter Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 Exactly 2 years. Started bass fishing Dec 2014. Quote
