Since I was 3 or 4, so well over 20 years.

I'm told it was age 4. That's 61 years. Can't remember what I had for breakfast yesterday but can remember every detail of the first nice bass (6 lbs) I caught and that was 59 years ago. My wife of 44 + years tells me I am ill and need help. Told her no, I'll just suffer thru and die from it.

Oh,"bass fishing"... caught my first bass, a 12" LM, about age 7 or 8. I was.... mesmerized. Still am, entirely.

Fishing journal begun Oct 19, 1977; Currently on the 9th volume.

I caught my first largemouth bass in 1959 using this Ted Williams-branded (Sears) reel. The bass in 1959 was probably about the same size as this reel brought in just a few years ago...

To more correctly answer the question of "how long have you been bass fishing" expressed as a cumulative total number of years specifically fishing for bass (not when you caught your first bass) - I guess it would be about 20 years total considering I had long "fishing hiatuses" over the years and fished only salt water for some time as well.

I've been concentrating on bass for maybe 35 years. I'm 46 now. I got my first baitcaster for Christmas at about 12 years old I think. But I've been fishing since before I have memories.

30 years ago I started. Nearly every weekend in the summer from age 4-15.  Then a little less from 16-19.   from age 20-30, when work obligations kept me away, I wasn't able to fish ore than a couple mornings a year.  The last 4 years has been a progressive incline with each year.  Career change and geographic location are helping me catch up for lost time.

So 30 years with only 15 of them consistent.

Grew up fishing but didn't start targeting bass till I was 16 and could drive myself to the river. So that would be 31 years now and I still don't know why I do it. Maybe cause its not as bad for me as smoking or worse for me than exercising.

Started as a pre-teen in 1975, so 41 years.  Fished alot until I was 16 and able to start dating, then sporadic through the beginning of marriage & starting a family.  As the kids got older and my responsibilities changed, I reverted back to pre-teen form :).

I started fishing in the  80's when I was 6 or 7 years old, I was a "bass fisherman" by age 10, I am 40 now. So 30 years and counting.

The first bass I have family photo catching was in '47 using a cane pole with flag shape chamois dyed red crappie fishing off our dock. It would have been around '51 when I started bass fishing using a casting rod & reel.

I started this year. I have really tried to be a student of the sport and it has definitely paid off.

Since I was three.  I couldn't even cast yet, so someone would throw my bobber and nightcrawlers out and tell me to jerk and reel as fast as I can once the little red and white bobber goes under.  I still remember that day, it seemed like I caught giant bluegill nonstop for hours at the time.
