Finally got a chance to get out on the lake the day before Thanksgiving. I told myself the day before that I'm going no matter what.

So off I went,  39 degrees out ,  and a very steady rain .

Overall, it was the best day of fishing I've had all year.  Ended up hooking into 16 largemouth, several in the 3-4lb range,  3 hybrids, and one fat sauger.

Oh yeah,  and I also snagged my new personal best largemouth! She went 7.07lbs and was just a hair under 22 inches. Hooking into her sure kept me warm.

Congrats! 78 pointer is one of my favorites, but it's never caught anything near that size.

78 is a favorite of mine as well.  The funny thing is,  I fished the exact area I caught her half an hour earlier with a 128 sp pointer.  Kept getting 1lbers following my bait to the boat, so I tied on the 78 to see if it would entice them more.  Little did I know it would bring big bertha out.

WTG! Great day.

Determination pays.

I always knew the day before whether it was actually going to be worth stopping to pick up a potential fishing partner at 4am. Any hesitancy and I found it wasn't worth stopping. Never lost any friends that way either.

Very nice! You got me even more worked up to hit the water tomorrow! Similair situation for me. I said I was going no matter what...now the forecast is 50 with a 100% chance of rain lol
