CrustyMono Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 Anyone have reviews for this? Is it worth $130? Quote
Super User rippin-lips Posted November 24, 2016 Super User Posted November 24, 2016 Yeah, there's probably 400+ posts on the tatula if you do a quick search on them. It's a very solid reel for the money. 1 Quote
Super User fishnkamp Posted November 24, 2016 Super User Posted November 24, 2016 We have been over this you and me. If you are serious about actually getting one send me an email at fishnkamp@comcast.net. I have some info on a better deal. As for the reel, all of the Tatulas, Tatulas Type Rs and both Tatula CT are terrific. You would have already cast one if we had been able to meet up. I am still willing to meet up with you and let you cast a few different combos, just ask your dad to email me and we can arrange it over the phone. I would be willing to run up there and meet somewhere he feels comfortable. We would be able to do the exact same thing I did when I met up with Tom several weeks ago. Heck a good place would be in Hamburg at Cabela's. 1 Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted November 24, 2016 Super User Posted November 24, 2016 Lists for $200 and you are asking if it is worth $130? A better question would be "Is it worth the $200 some people pay for it." 1 Quote

Super User new2BC4bass Posted November 25, 2016 Super User Posted November 25, 2016 I like the finish on the original Type R better than on the standard and that alone makes it worth it to me, but the 8.1:1 ratio is only available on the Type R. All ratios are available for both models in the CT line. The Tatulas have 20 selections on the dial versus 10 on older Daiwas. I do fine with 10, but anybody learning to use a baitcast reel will probably appreciate the 20 as you can really restrict backlashes and over-runs (and distance) by cranking up the brakes. Personally I think the Type Rs are worth a lot more than $130. You should take fishnkamp's advice. 1 Quote
