After seeing a couple threads on getting reels painted, I thought I would try my own  way. It's definitely not like some of the pieces of art done by calfish on the tackle tour forums, but it's kind of cool to have something customized. I used basic spray paint, and cleaned it up with some acetone nail polish remover. Found out accidentally that mineral oil is good for getting rid of the sticky feeling of the spray paint.

If you like it, keep it. If you don't, paint it again.

Absolutely no one other than yourself cares about how a reel looks when you are catching fish. Have fun!

Thanks! This was my second try. Had to wipe off the first attempt with nail polish remover b/c the paint marker started dripping when I sprayed the clear coat on. This time I used the spray can instead of paint pen for the stripe and it worked out better.
