It was a cold day with a temp of around 28 which was doable compared to blasting around 60mph from spot to spot. Was one of my best size and quantity days with my best 5 going around 22lbs. Two over 5 and about a dozen that were 3-4's. Caught a chunky but short largie also. Original day to fish was yesterday but 25mph with 40mph gusts wasn't happening .

Fantastic bass! I know the winds you are speaking about. Much respect for you braving the elements to fish.

Holy cow that is some ballsy fishing this time of year.  I see quite a bit of snow on shore too.

Thanks guys. I traveled 6 hours and was determined to get some fishing in sometime between Monday and Tuesday. The wind on Monday would have made for an unbearable deal with 40mph gusts and not knowing how much lake effect snow was going to hit. Tuesdays wind wasn't too too bad later in the afternoon. There's not much smb fishing that's great in my immediate area.

thanks for the report. I rarely fish freshwater at this time of year and it is good to see the bite is strong.

I am curious as to how deep the fish were positioned and what lures they were hitting.

Nice! What technique did you go with in that cold water???

I was throwing jigs at first with no success then switched up to swimbaits  in 20-25fow. Water temp of 46 was warmer than I thought it was going to be.

Congrats on the great day - you earned it.  There's something especially satisfying when you're catching fish with that kind of scenery.  It's not easy, but I love fishing with snow on the ground.
