It does not have an SV spool. It has a G1 magforce z spool. You can see it in the pics. The non sv spool and aluminum frame is what's going to bring the price down from $500 to whatever msrp is going to be.

Very interesting. very confusing too :P Now I understand though, thanks for that

I wonder if this reel (Steez A) will be priced to compete directly with the Metanium at around $400 in the U.S.

I think it might phase out the current Steez SV 103 that's priced at $399. So it's a good possibility that it'll be coming in at that $400 price point.

really surprised /w the "xtra tough" tag line that a non SV or deeper SV CT zillion wouldn't be part of the plan. If they are making an SV CT tatula, that can't be too far off price wise from the zillion sv tw..or at least be far enough away in price to justify the zillion sv tw.

An SV Tatula CT for...199? might be too good to be true. I can't tell if the new Tatula SV is based off the old or new CT frame. Hopefully the CT frame.

Steez SV TW will be here MondayB)

It looks like the original Tatula frame to me.

Hard to say. The picture of the guy holding the rod/reel in one hand and the LC crank in the other looks like the old frame. The close up pics on the japan forum /w the Fuego/Steez looks like the CT. Wouldn't be the first time we've been duped by a Daiwa frame size in pics on TT.

I just upgraded the bearing on my ancient TDXs, but I sure would like to give one of these new ones a shot.  My older ones just won't die and they catch fish just fine!
