Word is that a new tatula with sv spool will be released around the classic. A new Fuego and aluminum Steez SV TWS are to be released also. A newly revamped line of tatula rods are in the works too.

Are you referring to the rods? The reel doesn't really look any different than previous offerings.

I've seen quit a few pics of the new Tatula Signature rods. There are pics  of Omori and Ehrler using them recently on Facebook and Instagram.  TW even posted one for an upcoming video they will release but when I asked them they wouldn't give  me any info on the rods.

No CTs.  No Tat.  Had to look for about 10 minutes to find a Type R to compare.  Top pic looks similar.  Don't know if that bluish-green is the real color, the lighting when you took the picture or if it is my old and cheap monitor.  Being out of focus (on my monitor) doesn't help.  The way the top opening on the reel in the bottom picture dips down looks odd to me.  Also the handles are on the wrong side compared to my reel.    I hope the color I am seeing on the top picture isn't real, and normally I'm not one to be too concerned with looks as long as performance is there..

Now this is funny.  :happy76:  I have 5 Shimano casting reels, but wouldn't mind another 3 or 4 more.  As previously stated no CTs or original Tatulas.  Sold the one I did have to a college student with little money looking to get into baitcast reels for about half what I could have gotten for it.  Actually I wouldn't have sold it except for wanting to help a young fellow member out.  I do have 2 Tatula Type Rs with one being a Limited Edition that has only been out of the box to look at.  Now here is the funny part.  I just listed my Diawas.  Don't think I missed any.  I still have 30 Diawa casting reels.  :toothy9:

The fact that I am not one to notice every little nuance is probably why I've never met a reel I didn't like.  :teeth:

Its funny I had some Shimano Curado Es and Shimano Chronarchs as well as some of the BPS Rick Clunn edition reels. They were the purple ones that had the dual breaking. I sold most of them and have gone to Daiwa Tatula, Tatula Type Rs and 2 CTs. They just work much better for me and they hold up really wel to the tidal rivers, bass, stripers, snakeheads, big blue cats (my biggest was just over 18 pounds) and the salty/brackish water we have here and on the Potomac River. I stil intend on upgrading 6 more.

I've stated more than once that I prefer Diawa to Shimano whenever I'm looking to cast light lures.  Probably because I learned on a Diawa and have more magnetic brake reels than any other kind.  I don't fish salty/brackish water.  Been over 40 years since I caught any fish that big or bigger.  Actually I quit fishing 2 years after moving to this area.  Didn't fish for 23 years.  Can't really call what I do most of the time "fishing".  More like "practice" which is why I am hoping it works out for me to move to Florida in a few months.  Had hoped to already be there.

A non TWS Fuego CT? Should just bring back the original Fuego. Better frame design.

Meh, I will wait and see when they come out and people use them for a bit. Not a must have for me especially the rods.

The current Steez sv tws is magnesium. I haven't heard a single negative about it. Actually it's the total opposite. Even people who didn't want to like it say it's an amazing reel. So that's the only one I'm excited about. Being non sv and aluminum now should drop the price a decent amount. Definitely on my list of reels to buy. If it comes in around 300ish it should be a pretty big contender in that price range.

Man that's nice, either this or the magnesium one are gonna be my next cpl of reels.

Most of the guys in the video are using the new Tatula rods as well. Interested to see if  they will replace the  old line or fall elsewhere.

The last 2 are a slightly larger frame but the Steez is small.

what about the zillions?

Nothing new there that I'm aware of. Just the current zillion sv tws.

really surprised /w the "xtra tough" tag line that a non SV or deeper SV CT zillion wouldn't be part of the plan. If they are making an SV CT tatula, that can't be too far off price wise from the zillion sv tw..or at least be far enough away in price to justify the zillion sv tw.

An SV Tatula CT for...199? might be too good to be true. I can't tell if the new Tatula SV is based off the old or new CT frame. Hopefully the CT frame.

Steez SV TW will be here MondayB)

So the 2016 Steez SV TW is supposed to be for lighter lures (and it is a light reel) while the 2017 Steez A SV TW is supposed to be just as smooth but more durable (and therefore a little more heavy)? So the only advantage to the current model is the lighter weight?

I wonder if the Steez A will be the same $500 price as this year's model? Also I assume this will be a Classic release?

Also, I find it funny that in the video @rippin-lips linked here that they imply that you can't throw heavy lures and catch solid fish with the current model. Line capacity is overrated; I put less than 75 yards of line on my Aldebaran (rated for 85yds of 12lb, I use 15lb) and I have never spooled it, and I've thrown an A-rig on it before. That and the current Steez has 11lbs of drag, that's plenty except for in extreme situations (flipping a terribly thick mat and hooking into 5+ pounders). I bet Ish could have landed that bass just as easily with the current model in that video.

All that being said, I'm definitely very interested in this new Steez A, I just laugh at some of the things these guys say in the video to sell the reels.

I am also interested in the new Steez A.  I wonder how it will compare to the SV103 which is on the old TD-Z/Zillion platform?  Will it cast better even though it doesn't have an SV spool?

But the Steez A does have an SV spool

It does not have an SV spool. It has a G1 magforce z spool. You can see it in the pics. The non sv spool and aluminum frame is what's going to bring the price down from $500 to whatever msrp is going to be.
