It's a toad Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 I was wondering how heavy weight wise in oz's is a black max rod? I've looked all over the Internet and couldn't find it. Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted November 21, 2016 Super User Posted November 21, 2016 I have no clue. But, you've piqued my interest...why do you ask? Can't say that I've ever wondered how much any of my rods weigh.....just curious... Quote
cottny27 Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 Yeah I doubt you will find anything on that. That's going to be a heavier rod for sure with cheaper material used in the blank. I wish the tackle companies would list their rod weights. Quote

I already own a black max rod and wanted to see how heavy the black max is compared to the dobyns. 5 minutes ago, cottny27 said: Yeah I doubt you will find anything on that. Yeah I think it will be heavy also just curious how it compares to some rods I want to buy. Quote
cottny27 Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 Rods I own that are light are a Quantum Smoke at 3.4oz. The Duckett Ghost seems light probably under 4oz. Quantum Exo PT makes a 6'8"M model that weighs in at only 2.9oz. That's the lightest 6'8" "off the shelf" rod that I am aware of. I think most of your 7' rods will be around the 5oz mark unless you spend over $200. Quote

Yea I want to buy the dobyns fury rod 7'3" mag heavy for punching and frogs but it's 5.7 oz's I was wondering if that heavy or not for a 109$ rod Quote

That's a monster heavy duty rod. You're not gonna find a punching/frog rod that weighs 4oz. Quote
