TightLines11 Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 I've done a lot of research and have narrowed my choice down to these two reels. I will be targeting mostly smallmouth, largemouth, and occasional walleye. All my fishing will be from shore around lakes and reservoirs. Any advice is welcome. MBB Nate Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 Personally I think there are better reels for $100. For $100 I would rather have a Daiwa Tatula. If you want a link to $100 Tatulas send me a PM. Quote
TightLines11 Posted November 20, 2016 Author Posted November 20, 2016 Why would you rather have a Daiwa Tatula and where can you find it for $100? I would consider the Daiwa Tatula CT 100H or 100HS. Any other recommendations in the $100 range? I am looking for an aluminum frame, I prefer centrifugal to magnetic, I would like to be able to cast a 1/4oz lure with ease. The Abu Garcia Orra2SX is highly rated and the Okuma Cerros comes with a 1 year warranty. Both are aluminum frame and supposedly have good to great free-spool. What do you recommend in the $100 range? Quote
d-camarena Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 I can vouch for the okuma. Great reel. I have that tatula i bought for $100. Its a great reel but just feels like a $100 reel. I guess i was expecting more. I prefer my casitas or my energy pt over it. And my cerros. Quote
crypt Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 i love my 3 orras, but then again I use only abu's. they are for life, after all………….. Quote
TightLines11 Posted November 21, 2016 Author Posted November 21, 2016 I looked a little more... Would the Lew's Speed Spool LFS or the Pflueger Supreme be a better option than the Abu Garcia Orra 2SX ? Quote
