Pressured ponds

I fish a pressured pond with clear water in Mississippi. I was wondering if y'all had and tips on what to use this winter the lake has very little structure.

The Senko is a good lure to use when fishing a highly pressured body of water.You can also fish with lures that people rarely use(think outside the box).

Neko rigs, texas rigs. Also uncommon presentations

Drop shot a really soft worm like a reins bubbling shakers 4" or roboworm 4.5", or something similar. Straight tail, fairly slender and little movement seems to work really well in clear pressured water where they aren't locked into cover.

Chances are, someone catches a lot of fish there, and someone else asked them what they catch them on. They then shared that bait with everyone else.  In the end, 80% of the people are throwing pretty much the same thing at the fish.  Try throwing something completely different and see where it gets you.

Weightless plastics get them every time. If I'm having trouble, I just start throwing plastics.

I use to fish a similar urban pond and would do really well drop shotting on 4lb line.  I found the key was going to the lightest line possible, I tried 2lb test but would break off so stuck with 4lb

Good advice, especially if someone is targeting big bass in a highly pressured body of water.

Correct. That's how I caught my biggest bass of 2016.These highly pressured bodies of high visibility waters can be difficult to fish,but they often have big bass in them.

I fish a pressured pond but, I've yet to see another kayaker or small boat guy on the pond. so, I could be the only one on the water and hitting spots that the shore guys can't get to. so, are you on the water or on the shore? I've seen that smaller lures work good. so downsize.

Lightest line you can use, 4lb test, match the forage and just fish slowly & look at the contour of the land around the pond, type of ground composition as that tells you what is in the water.

Also focus on where water enters and where it exits...Also head out at night and plant some brush piles for next year, in a spot that is in deep water near quick access to shallow water and some weeds on or near the first drop off....

I find finesse is different for anyone. Try using smaller lures, panfish lures. I catch some of my biggest bass on panfish lures in the cold or in summer on Tiny baits and lures, Winter I love a Road Runner Jig in 1/16-1/8. Or hair jigs of same size. Panfish tubes etc...Big bass in ponds learn from sounds, and lures. Loud casts can be an issue. If it gets alot of pressure, fish the area that people think is not good, I have had days in smaller ponds/lakes when fish moved to spots where I have never caught them again since too many boats were on the lake making too much noise. The fish will retreat to safety.

Clear water ponds & lakes & state controlled waters are the norm in Mississippi. Use 10lb. test on your bait caster & 6 & 8 pound test on your spinning gear with a Zoom finesse worm using 1/16 to 1/4 TX. rigged weights and work it slowly and be aware of grass & weeds.  We aren't too far from Spring when it all will change.
