Brayberry Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 I see *** on Facebook and online often. Has anyone tried their reels? I'm tempted to get one to try because the prices are great. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MA54PVJ?th=1&psc=1 The description sounds good, but I don't want or need a junk reel, but if it's smooth, and reliable it'd be a fun reel to leave in the truck for when I pass a lake or something unexpectedly. So does anyone have a review or any info on this company. Thanks! I am not affiliated or attached to this company in any way, just looking for honest opinions
Super User new2BC4bass Posted November 18, 2016 Super User Posted November 18, 2016 The Trireme Series is being closed out on their website. A $54.99 reel for $16.00 if you are looking to spend as little as possible. I was interested in their baitcast reels at one time. Reading through the comments on their website left me feeling like everyone posting there either worked for the company or was a relative or good friend of someone working for them. I believe there was a thread about them on another forum. Pretty sure the comments didn’t match those on the company’s website or I would have purchased one. I do love that blue color, tho. You might want to consider a Pflueger Trion. I’ve not used that particular model, but have read some favorable comments on the reel. Comments made on fishing forums….not the Pflueger website. $40 at TW, but I imagine you could find them for less on fleabay. EDIT: In case you are wondering why the asterisks have replaced the company name, some companies...and links to them....are not allowed here because those companies were caught spamming these forums. 1
Brayberry Posted November 18, 2016 Author Posted November 18, 2016 I don't see how I could get in trouble as I was just looking for honest review on a cheap reel I found. I know nothing about the company. I have plenty of the Pflueger reels 2 Trions, 3 Presidents, and 3 President Limited Editions). I was mostly looking at a small ultralight reel for trout, crappie, etc. For bass I'll stick to my name brands. Thanks for your imput. I agree with the reviews onlne though with this company. All of them seem like inside jobs.
BrackishBassin Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 If you want something cheap that works, try a Daiwa spinning combo. Got mine for $25. Had it a year so far and I've caught bass, crappie, blue gill, pickerel, red drum, and perch with it. Still works great, and if it breaks I'm not out much. If you catch it at the right time, Dick's puts them on sale buy one get one.
