BlackBassman Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Im looking at a 1962 Lonestar V haul with 1983 25 hp evinrude, Runs great, foot controlled trolling motor, brand new floorboards, carpet, and cranking battery. And the boat is tagged till 3/08 trailer tagged till 3/07. Have boat Title. Dude is asking 800$ for it. Oh and there is a steering console so i guess you dont have to steer from the back of the boat. On more question if its taggend in texas and i fish in oklahoma does it matter? Quote
worm Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 I'm not sure what the OK laws are but here in KS a person can have an out of state boat on KS lakes for up to 90 consecutive days without any problems. 2 years ago, my family and I took our jetski to see my brother in Michigan and there was no problem there. Even got a speeding ticket on it and the Ranger didn't say any thing except, "oh, I see you are fom KS." Worm Quote
VABasser Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Hmm, does it come with a trailer? If not then you are gonna have to buy one. If the boat doesn't leak, the motor runs good then $800 sounds fine, especially if the trailer comes with it. If you're fishing in Oklahoma then you would most likely have to get it registered there. Check and be sure of the rules because I'm just guessing, I live in Virginia Quote
BlackBassman Posted April 24, 2006 Author Posted April 24, 2006 Boat does come with a trailer. I was trying to make a decision between a jon boat and a v-haul, then i realized how much freakin wind we get here and decided to get the V. Just gotta make sure its the right one. here are a few pics of it Quote
BlackBassman Posted April 24, 2006 Author Posted April 24, 2006 last one I no it needs a little paint and a deck but what do you think? Quote
Skwerl Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Looks like a wonderful 'first boat'. You can find all kinds of things to customize or fix up the way you like as you get the extra money. One thing you need to know, the registration tags/ stickers are a tax paid by the other owner. When you buy the boat, the registration stickers arte no longer valid. It doesn't matter if they don't expire for another year, the minute you buy the boat the registration expires. You will need to register it in your name (or your parents if you're a minor) and pay for your own registration. Quote
