Super User Redlinerobert Posted November 16, 2016 Super User Posted November 16, 2016 When my boat was delivered a couple months back, the cowling was damaged. I've since researched and apparently it can be repaired to look brand new. I've decided to send it off to a repair shop and have it updated. Also, The graphics will be redone to the '16 graphics that were changed. My boat hull is a '16, and the motor is a late '15. The new graphics actually match my boat colors much better. At the end of the day, shipping included, I'm looking at approximately $1,000. Old Mercury Racing 300xs graphics. New Mercury Racing 300xs graphics. 4 Quote
Cmiller Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 The other option is to simply remove the decals on your non damaged cowl and order the 2016 decals. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted November 16, 2016 Super User Posted November 16, 2016 How heavy are those cowls? I know my Pro Max alien cowl is super light, like 5 lbs., but the 115 cowl must have been like 25 lbs. Quote

True, but I'd still have a damaged cowling sitting in the stables. I'd rather have a back up that's ready to put on in the improbable case that the new cowling is damaged. 23 minutes ago, J Francho said: How heavy are those cowls? Super User Way2slow Posted November 17, 2016 Super User Posted November 17, 2016 For what the OEM graphics cost, I would have opted for some custom paint/graphics for a few dollars more, that more suited me and the boat. Take that same as every bodies look out of it. 2 Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted November 17, 2016 Super User Posted November 17, 2016 That's going to look really nice on your boat! 2 Quote
crypt Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 put on a pic when it's all said and done. can't wait to see it. with the boat of course Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted November 17, 2016 Author Super User Posted November 17, 2016 I'll be shipping the cowl out after Thanksgiving. I considered a set of custom graphics, but the new graphics match up with the boat's color scheme pretty well. I like the fact that they're a bit more subtle than the current graphics. Quote
