What hooks do you use?

I know there are 1038108 different kinds of hooks out there. I am curious to what hooks you guys use? Between weighted hooks, unweighted, straight shank, offset, EWG, and octopus. I am anxious to hear some insight of how you use the more odd hooks.

Personally I will use EWG for everyday use, then use a few "specialty" hooks for unique presentations, such as Spinshot for dropshotting, keel weighted for swimbaits and frogs, etc.

For the most part i use the Owner flipping hook or jungle hook.  I use a widegap j jook for tubes.

OMG! I have so many, I have one small plano with ewg's,. another small plano with offset round bends, and another small plano with trailers and odd hooks

 I use some specific baits for the many different opportunities up here, so they all have their purposes. but I will use "some" examples.,...

 I use ewg's for Fatter bodied baits, Like,.. I toss a berkley power pulse worm in a bluegill color., I bought tons of them before berkley decides to discontinue them(cuz they do) so I would have them in "stock", now I use a mid sized ewg here because they are like a zipper worm and are kinda thick to get the hook through during a hookest., I also have a few custom handpours that are thick as well hence the small plano.

 Offset round bends I use the most. Why? they always worked, so I aint gunna break it. From slugo's to 4 inch worms all the way up to 12 inch worms and snakes, the offset gets the nod.

 the odd and trailer hooks box has several different types of hooks, and Im wondering if this is where Glenn was heading. trailer hooks are obvious, odds? a bit off the wall.

 I have some old tube hooks that Tony Bean recommended. They have a funny kahle type bend and a wire clip near the eye to clip the tube on as you rig this hook weedless on a tube, also had some inside tubeweights as well.

 Straight shank hooks are found here as well as I will sometimes rig a weedless worm with them if I find the fish active, but im missing them for some reason I will switch the offset for the straight shank.,..

 I also just added the dropshot hooks that Glenn recommended in his video ,..with the built in swivel, to the same "odd" box. As I just bought a mojo bass dropshot rod

 I also have some circle hooks, kahle hooks, and even a few live bait for my girls to fish with. The kahle were for shorter plastics like a weedless fished grub, until ewg's started coming in smaller sizes, and the circles were for a carolina rigged floating worm, so I wasn't guthooking tourney fish. 

 I reality I use just about all of these at least once a year, barring the live baits and circles

I am a simple man,so I keep the hooks simple.I use 3/0 gamakatsu ewg. for most of my t- rigged baits.I will downsize to 2/0 for plastic worms and like 1/0 for 4 inch senkos.

I have no trouble hooking and landing fish with this method.

I will occasionally fish live bait.I use a small  #4 plain shank live bait hook in bronze by Eagle claw.It is small enough to not disrupt the baits natural action,but strong enough to hold large fish.Its surprising that I will rarely miss a fish with such a small hook.

 VMC hooks .  The short section where the eye is , does not lie on a straight plane with the shank and the point . Draw an imaginary straight line away from it and it points directly to the point . What does this do ? soft plastics can be rigged perfectly straight  and thus causing less line twist  .I bury the hook  with these . I only use EWG's on tubes and fat baits and I skin hook them .

95% of the time, I'm using a Gammy 3/0 Offset shank EWG worm hook.  Perfect size for most of the baits I use     (Senko's, Tubes, etc)

Love the Owner Mosquito. Not a great weightless t-rig hook but for wacky and small craw applications they're fantastic. Great quality.

Gamakatsu split shot/drop shot hooks for drop shot

Straight shank round bend for everything up to the diameter of a Senko & then it's a EWG.

Gamakatsu 1/0 Circle hooks for open water wacky rigging or VMC weedless if needed.

Owner keel weighted, or unweighted hooks with centering pin for swim baits.

Gamakatsu skip gap hooks for all types of plastic stick baits including ribbon tails or swimming type plastics...Cut R's, speed worms, Sluggo's etc.

Gamakatsu ewg for all other plastics on the "fat side"...10" worms, magnum speed worms etc.

Pretty much exclusively Owner hooks.

I like the 4/0 Twistlock for T-rigged senkos and some creature baits. I also use this for weightless rigging paddletail swimbaits.

For wacky senkos I use the 1/0 wacky hook for weightless and the 1/0 wacky jig head for weighted.

I also use the keel weighted version of the Twistlock beast hook in various sizes for paddletail swimbaits and creature baits. 

Ultraround Jighead also for swimbaits when I want that nose down presentation dragging the bottom.

4x jungle flippin' hook flipping and punching.

Downshot hooks for dropshotting and Neko rigs.

Z-man Shroomz for Ned rigs.

99% of soft plastics I'll use Mister Twister Keeper hooks.  The only alteration I do on some is to replace the barb with an Owner Centering Pin spring.

I buy stuff on sale and have bought all kinds of hooks here and there, but I always seem to go back to Owner Mosquito/Gamkatsu SplitshotDropshot hooks for dropshotting, Owner TwistLock hooks with the centering pin for C-Rig/T-Rig, and either Gamakatso Weighted EWG or Owner Beast for swimbaits.  I've tried Roboworm Re-Barbs, Skip Gap, Offset Worm, Straight Shank Worm and a bunch of others, but still seem to go back to the others.

Same, but I do everything up to like Fat Ika thickness with either Owner Straight shanks or Twistlocks. I only really use EWGs for flukes (I swear they somehow give the best action) and when I am skipping plastics.  I like the Gammy Skip-gaps and the VMC long-shank hooks for EWGs.  

I wanna give round bend offsets a try next year to see if they can give the same great hookups as straight shanks but maybe be a little easier on the plastics.  

 As for specialty hooks, the Kumho Reaper Keeper hooks have been working out great for weightless Keitech Impacts.  The keeper never seem to rip out of the heads.

I like mustad grip pin lineup.  They work well to keep bait in place e of bass tearing em up.

 

I use their ewg and swimbait hook the most.  Swimbait hook is great for flukes

H20 xpress 25 pack ewg hooks. I used to buy these because they were cheaper and now i buy them because they are not bad hooks. Have never straightened one out or broke one

Wasn't too brand loyal before this year.  I scattered my cash across Gammy, VMC, Mustad, Eagle Lazer, etc.  No 'generics' or BPS hooks, however. 

    I've gotten so that given a choice for a particular size/style, I'll almost always go with Owner nowadays.  Took me too long to find out that the extra cost, if any, is well worth it.
