I always have a jig rod and a t-rig rod at the ready.  I start with a jig.  Reason being that when I got back into hardcore bass fishing a few years back I used t-rigs and caught bass.  Nothing big and figured there weren't big bass where I was fishing.  I decided to try jigs anyway and started catching much bigger bass in those same locations......now I start with the jig first.........if it's not catching I'll try the t-rig.

I'm not saying you can't catch big bass on t-rigs, my PB is on a t-rig,,,,,,but I'm betting numbers 19-20 are mainly on a jig of some sort.

I have both tied on and ready, but when I fish water that sees a lot of fishing pressure, I reach for a jig first.

All I know is I’m forcing myself to throw way more Jigs.. I have always steered away from them and have come to learn I’m missing out on good fishing .

I use Texas rigs   more than jigs because I have more success with them .  I fish them exactly the same way in the same places .  Whatever floats my boat at the time is what I use and if it doesnt work then I change .

Both can be fished in the same way and largely the same places. I usually prefer jigs if there is wood and T-Rigs if there is a lot of grass, as a T-Rig will pick up less grass than a jig. Other than that, use the T-Rig to find the fish and the jig to catch the big ones.
