Drunkentigerrr Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 Hi BR, You might have seen my other post about my top water rod. But I am upgrading my crank bait rod also. I am from Toronto Canada and our fall fishing is coming to an end. But it is also a great time to grab discounted gear and upgrade arsenal. I am a huge Loomis fan and I was wondering which Loomis rod would be best for crank bait. I am most likely looking in the GLX line since NRX doesn't make crank bait rods. Keep in mind I think I am leaning towards a GLX 843 CBR OR GLX 845 CBR , let me know what your thoughts are! Drunkentigerrr Quote
pawpaw Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 I have a bunch of the CBR's. The way they load and release when casting and the action when retrieving and fighting fish is exactly how it should be in my opinion. I just can't believe a crankbait rod could get much better, at any price. 2 Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted November 10, 2016 Super User Posted November 10, 2016 The difference in the 843 and 845 is the power of the rod. What size cranks are you looking to throw? 1 Quote
Super User Raul Posted November 10, 2016 Super User Posted November 10, 2016 If it were me I would get a 785, it's a more versatile rod except for the tiniest of crankbaits. 1 Quote
Super User WRB Posted November 11, 2016 Super User Posted November 11, 2016 Look at the MH 864CBR DF, 7'2" crankbait rod. Tom 1 Quote

Great crankbait rod and even though I am not a fan of moderate rods, I really do like the moderate action of those rods, plus they are just flat our fun to fish. That deep loading down the blank when that nice largemouth inhales your lure is pure fun. 1 Quote
