I am looking at picking up a S-Waver my lakes are usually moderately stained water in N.E. Texas any suggestions on a color? I am just starting using a few swimbaits and would never spend $50 on a lure but my daughter wants to get me one for Christmas. I didnt know if anyone might have some input on color.

You're wanting a 200? The smaller ones are inexpensive.

But for color, I personally would get Party Crasher

I figure go big or go home right? I mean the idea is to catch a big fish I'm going to try big bait. :D

Seriously I kind of watch the bassresource youtube channel and really wasn't ever into swimbaits and still not, but I'm going to try a little. :thumbsup:

Party Crasher is the one I told her I liked but then I second guessed my decision and came here.

So since you thought it was 50 you should get two (;

Or is that not exactly what you are looking for ?!!!

Oh it will be $50 for one. They are $45.99 ea at tacklewarehouse.com. I think the 200 size is what I want. I'm not buying, my kid is for me otherwise I wouldn't be getting one. I cant tie my $50 to the end of my line and throw it out there. :roflmao1:  My kids $50 is a whole different situation though.

I acquired a Deps 250 recently (worth around $150), and I've hung it up on logs probably 6 or 8 times so far. Keep a lure retriever on you and you'll be okay :)

S-Wavers are solid baits for the money. When you get it put a split ring on it and grind the sides on the front of the joint until the back joint doesn't touch the sides anymore. You will get an extra 8" of glide both ways on the 200 by doing this and about 4" on the 168, which makes a big difference. Replace the stock trebles with a 2/0 on the 168 and your ROF will be much more useful and it will stay down.

These glide better on lighter line too. I switched to 12lb CXX for all of my glides and it added more distance to the glide. If you have a long rod with a lighter tip like a mag crank bait rod you will get even more action. A rod where the tip loads up when it glides swims them better than one that doesn't.

I would maybe stay with a 168 and you know it, I know it I think is another color and party crasher are all good. Also perch but I don't know about in Texas

Bone is my favorite but my BIL does well with lite trout even though we don't have trout in our lakes. I did not like the 200 size (and not because it was too big, it just didn't glide very well I didn't think), but the 168 has been good.

168My choice for the color/type of waters in North East Texas would be the New Bluegill S-Waver 168. This color has some "Chartruse" on it for the water conditions that you are fishing.S-Waver 168

The 200 S-Waver weighs 3 1/2 oz, you will need a heavy swimbait rod rated for 5+ oz lures. Can't go wrong with Bone color.
