What is everyone's thoughts on the Diawa Tatula CT, I have had one for a short time and was thinking of switching to them exclusively. But was wondering of the long term durablity of them. Let me know you opinions and alternatives in the same price range

They just came out recently so I'd say that the "long term durability" is still up in the air, BUT because they are part of the Tatula line I'd guess that they should hold up pretty well. The tatula series are known as solid affordable workhorses thus far, I doubt the CT will be much different.

I picked up 2 of them for a hundo on flebay and I LOVE them. They are all the good things about the normal Tatula, just in a smaller package. I was considering getting more Lew's Tourny Pro G's but after running a few of these CT's that are $50 less.. I'm smitten. Might be buying more of these instead. They are buttery smooth. Kind of astonishing for about $100 shipped.

bburtam I have been selling off all of my Shimano Curados and Chronarchs. I replaced them with 1 Exceler ( it retails for $99 but I got it for $60) several Tatula Type Rs( found them on sale for $130 shipped regularly $199) and now two CTs for $100 shipped. I really like all of the Tatula variants. Go ahead and switch over you will love them. The CT is just a bit smaller in width and it sits a bit lower than the original Tatula. They redesigned the spool so you carry the same amount of line as the original series.  When I am done I will own a dozen total. They cast well, are are super smooth and have very good drags inside. I fish for bass, stripers and often catch up to 20 pound blue cats while targeting the stripers.  If you are interested in any of the CTs I have a source to get them for $100 shipped to your door.  Give me an e-mail at fishnkamp@comcast.net and I will tell you how to get that deal

I am really impressed with the CT. I own a tatula as well as some zillion and these are as good as either of them to me

I've got 3 Tatula's and 1 Tatula CT in my collection..   I wouldn't mind one bit if ALL my reels were Tatula's or CT's.  Great reels!
