dave Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 My partner has been before but, this was my first time. All fish were caught in two feet of water with bass tackle. Catching 20-30lb. fish in shallow water will make you rethink bass fishing. Man I want to live in Houma, Louisiana. The first pic is a 39", 27# red, the second was 32". Best fight I ever had as we had a double hook up and this fish ran through the guts and cuts on the bayou taking the tops off the marsh grass. (I lost complete site and just kept pressure) 5 Quote

smr913 Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 Man, I just got back from Port Sulphur, LA and I felt the same way. To be sight fishing big redfish is a blast and makes you jealous of the folks that get to do that on a regular basis. Makes you reconsider how heavy of tackle we use for bass fishing too! 2 Quote
dave Posted November 3, 2016 Author Posted November 3, 2016 I believe I see THE Cocahoe Minnow on your line. I bought a bunch for my trip and caught all fish on a gold Johnson Silver Minnow. My partner, all on the Cocahoe. You are exactly correct about the tackle. I've been on a downsizing trend for bass myself. 1 Quote
Super User Chris at Tech Posted November 4, 2016 Super User Posted November 4, 2016 Yeah, reds are addicting. If I lived closer to the salt, I wouldn't bother messing with bass anymore. 2 Quote
