Mike Murphy Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 Left the boat home today and fished on shore. Did not expect much, kinda like the two little ones posted below. When I am gonna leave momma hit. What a fight!!! No scale, Im guessing 5-6 lbs. from shore. 2 Quote

brgbassmaster Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 Nice ones! i plan on heading out that way when i get back from middle east. When does the flip bite and frog bite pick up out there? 1 Quote
Mike Murphy Posted October 31, 2016 Author Posted October 31, 2016 Awesome that you bring up frogs... I borrowed one this week and bought one at Bass Pro Shops to use because a user on this forum submitted a report along with a Youtube video showing he was catching fish with them. I did not even get the chance to use a frog bait... The fish around myself were jumping although just a few of them. Feeding for winter? I tried worming and top water buzz bait with no hits. Only on a crank did I get a bite. I plan on taking the boat this weekend and maybe Ill try flipping and frogging and post up. As I was fishing on shore I did not expect much, the decent fish was unexpected. Ha! my grammar, ......where's my coffee...... Quote
brgbassmaster Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 Ill be out there in the spring some time throwing the spros around and flipping. Arizona surprinsgly has some of the best frogging ives seen all over the US. I get home around january. 8 months of no fishing is killing me! 1 Quote
shimmy Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 Great fish! Depending on the thickness of that bass, it could be 7 pounds. That is a beautiful fish. All the reason to ALWAYS have a scale. I am terrified of this happening to me! No matter if i am fishing for 5 minutes from shore or at a spot that is not supposed to have a big fish, that scale is with me. However, i am sure that if i forgot it, i would start catching more giant bass. That always seems to happen when a scale is left at home. Great fish. 3 Quote
Mike Murphy Posted November 3, 2016 Author Posted November 3, 2016 Thanks everyone. I went out today and purchased a digital scale. I purchased the scale not only for the fish but so I can also set drag on my reel more consistently. I ended up with a Berkley digital even though I wanted a Rapala, but they did not have one and the Berkely had a fish on it so I think its ok.... Now I would like to get some kind of bag because I really do not want to put unnecessary holes in a fish's lips, but that is for another thread. Thanks again. I am headed out Sat. on the boat, will post report unless there is not one to post. 1 Quote
