Yeah......that's what NOWEMO is.  North West Missouri

That's my mistake. Didn't register till after I responded what that was. Did get my first small bass today. Honestly didn't even know I had a fish on I just thought I got caught up in some vegetation. There was no fight in the little guy. Practically dragged him in.

I was doing very poorly until I did almost the exact opposite of what everyone is saying here...lol.  Temps haven't really fallen too much here in NOWEMO (it's 80 right now) but I was fishing like they had.  Then I tied on some Rat-L-Traps and used a fall-rip-fall yoyo retrieve.  Pretty fast and violent.  Worked like a champ.  Gonna try it again tomorrow......might not work at all  LOL

It didn't.....*sigh*

Go to small finesse baits. Google Ike's Panic Box. Especially the small finesse worm. Brand doesn't matter that much. I like a C rigged Zoom Finesse Worm with a lighter bullet weight, like 1/8 oz. You can also do a spit shot rig, but the weight can damage your line if it's mono or floro. Pick a more natural looking color like watermelon or pumpkin. You'll probably catch smaller fish, but there can be big ones mixed in. Good luck

This time of year you should be fishing In the warmest part of the day for the best results. Probably 1-5 pm will be the best bite.

I have had plenty of success with a 3/8 to 1/2 oz swim jig with a reaction innovation skinny dipper as a trailer this fall.

I usually have pretty good success with jerkbaits, but I haven't used them yet. I am actually going fishing this Morning and I am going to throw some.

Im speculating that you are pretty new to bass fishing . The biggest mistake i see new bass anglers make  , is they throw out and reel in and hope to get lucky .  When i'm fishing from shore I parallel cast the bank and hit all cover I can see . When casting out in the open I typically use sinking lures that will follow the contour back up .  The bait can be paused periodically to stay in contact with the bottom.  That way the water can be quickly searched   and still stay in contact with the bottom  . I would likely go with inexpensive lures . Beetle Spins , pre rigged  swimbaits , jig and curl tailed grub... in case of snags . If a snag happens then cover was found .
