BassinHidalgo Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 Decided to tie on a jig this morning at my local lake. I used a 4" ZMan Turbo Crawz for a trailer. The bite has been tough so i went to dip the tail in some JJ's Magic and the stated to disintegrate and fell off in the bottle, had to fish it out and it was dissolving. Anyone else run into an issue like this? Quote
Ktho Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 it's a known result. Z-man plastic doesn't play well with other plastics, heat, or the dyes. 1 Quote

Everyone that's tried to dip a Z-Man bait into JJ's. The only other bait I know that is an issue are the old Keitech spiders that aren't made anymore. It's one of the caveats with Z-Man. The other is not to let them touch other baits. 1 Quote
BassinHidalgo Posted October 26, 2016 Author Posted October 26, 2016 Well now this noob knows too! Lol Have noticed the heat issue also. Thanks for the tip with other baits. Quote

Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted October 27, 2016 Super User Posted October 27, 2016 Not an issue with the TRD's & JJ's for me. 3 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted October 27, 2016 Super User Posted October 27, 2016 ^^^ Interesting! I did not know that. Every Z-man bait I've tried has disintegrated. That Chartreuse tip would is killer on tannin stained lakes up here. Quote

I now wonder if yellow food coloring would work once they have the salt washed out. Quote
Robert Riley Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 Anyone know the effect on the Batwingz trailers? Quote
Super User fishwizzard Posted October 28, 2016 Super User Posted October 28, 2016 No, but I did just buy a bottle of JJ's and will be dipping up a storm over the weekend! Quote
