Yudo1 Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 It might be psychological for me, but I like 4" for smallies and 5" for largemouth. Quote

EvanT123 Posted November 1, 2016 Posted November 1, 2016 Rock bass will bite a 5 inch senko. If I'm fishing a senko 99% of the time it's a 5 inch. 3 Quote

Super User webertime Posted November 1, 2016 Super User Posted November 1, 2016 I've noticed no Rhyme or Reason to senkos and the fish that eat them. Buddy dragging a 5" senko off the side of my canoe with the TM at max got smoked by a 14" Crappie. 5" Senko caught a 5" bass. Up hear Pre and Post spawn a 6" senko kills the smallies, but a 5" gets passed over. I know on the St Larry the 4" senko is a must. I've got custom pour 10" senkos that have caught 12"ers. I think it's more about the angler's confidence (most of the time) in what they are throwing. Quote
Super User Sam Posted November 1, 2016 Super User Posted November 1, 2016 Are you asking if size matters? Yes. Yes it does. I use Senkos from 3 to 6 inches and catch bass on all. As the water temperatures drop I go to a smaller Senko. I also will throw a 3-incher all year if bites are far and few between. Experiment. That's the fun of bass fishing. Try 'em all and when you find the size and color go for the gold!!!! Quote
Super User NHBull Posted November 8, 2016 Super User Posted November 8, 2016 Started last yr throwing the 5" and had success, when things got slow I went to the 4" and my luck improved 3 fold. This Fall the 4" was outperforming the 5 by a large margine and the size was up also.... Explains why wally world is always low on the 4's Quote
Senko Junkie Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 I'm new to the forum and I think that its ironic that this is my first post after the year I'm having. I had been out of fishing for awhile and just got back into it again this year. My fishing buddy introduced me to the Senko. This is by far my go to bait for bass. I usually use the 5" and my partner usually uses the 4". We have been catching fish all year long on both. I have caught everything from a 3-1/2 pounder to a 6-7" bass on the 5" Senko. My partner has done the same with a 4" Senko. He seems to get more hook-ups on the 4" where I missed quite a few with the 5". We both use 3/0 hooks I just recently purchased the 3" Senko yesterday to try out at Dale Hollow for some smallies.......wish me luck!! Quote
