Seems like the vast majority of spinnerbaits are meant to imitate shad.

Unfortunately the area I usually fish doesn't seem to have any but has tons of bluegill.

Just lost my favorite bluegill spinnerbait and wanted to know if anyone has any suggestions for replacemes?

Seibert has some excellent bluegill colors and great prices on his spinnerbaits.

You can always buy bluegill colored skirts and replace your favorite brand. Seibert makes good one's as well.

I throw the Lucky Craft Skeet Reese one's in the bluegill pattern as well. A green pumpkin works as a good imitator as well, which I'm sure you have from sold old jigs.

Aren't the famous Beetlespins good for this?

LOL...yes.

When I first read the title I thought of the same thing even though I knew he'd be looking for a bluegill colored skirt.

Interesting, where I live there's no shad so spinnerbaits can't imitate something bass have never seen, some places have bluegills but not all, some have tilapia but not all, still my everyday spinnerbait color has been white and with it I have caught thousands of fish no matter where I went, Tamaulipas, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Nayarit, Queretaro, Sinaloa that old white spinnerbait has caused trouble.

Just buy yourself a few packs of skirts like the Terminator quick skirts, northland has their version as well and so does z-man. Then you can carry fewer spinnerbaits and just swap the skirts to change colors. My favorite bluegill color skirt comes from z-man

I'm with you Raul. Shad aren't common up north here, but sometimes it's more about what gives you confidence and not what the fish will bite.

Pepper Custom Baits make the best spinnerbaits IMO, and they have several bluegill colors. Terminator has a bluegill colored skirt too.

Love my bluegill 1/2 oz spinnerbait from Siebert Outdoors.  Those blades really thump and flash in a special way.
